A senior UN mediator has urged the continuation of talks on a Syrian ceasefire being held in the Kazak capital of Astana.
After a ceasefire is reached in Syria the UN should provide the basic outline principles for a constitution that will encourage permanent peace and development in all nations. This should include an organizational structure based on universal values (freedom, democracy, human rights and rule of law), and featuring four branches (legislative, executive, judicial and procuratorial). It should give Syria a constitution that will be suitable for long lasting peace and development. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development for more.
