Myanmar should carry out reform to adopt the basic principles behind Global Unity Constitutional Standards as well as the core values of One World under One Set of Laws, giving international law precedence over domestic law. At the same time, it should install a modified semi-presidential system with cabinet. This will be the first step in resolving the Rohingya refugee crisis, after which the world's democracies should offer aid to relieve the suffering of refugees who have already fled across the border to Bangladesh. This is a story that never should have played out. Someone somewhere in the process, from the official who issued the ticket to those who deal regularly with such 'infractions', should have realized the absurdity of such laws. The elderly and the mentally challenged have special rights that all governments must be sensitive to. The international community needs to agree on uniform constitutional standards that conform to the ideals of human rights, constitutionalism, international law and natural law. This means adopting One World under One Set of Laws and complying with Article 1 of the Humanitarian Charter on the right of each person to live a normal life. Once again POTUS is channeling Grover Norquist by picking candidates for positions in government agencies who have previously criticized or opposed policies of the very agency they are slated to head. This, together with Trump's affinity for choosing candidates who have previously served in companies regulated by the agency or who are simply 'qualified' by blood or marital relations or donations to political parties. Either way, the result is inevitably a poor fit in the agency and a disaster for government operation. The solution for this type of behavior is more power in the hands of the people through direct election of top officials and term limits on those who serve.
