War between democratic states almost never happens. Thus when China and Russia can be convinced to democratize, there will be real hope for peace on earth. Taiwan will achieve great democracy and freedom, thereby attracting China to carry out democratization and do the same for Russia. When that happens world peace will break out! Almost every president in South Korea’s history has had at least one burst of corruption-related ugliness. This is practicality a given, mainly due to the enormous amount of power wielded by the president. The presidential system does have fatal flaws, and even the US has had its share of problems. South Korean must alter its constitution to adopt a modified semi-presidential system. The heads of the judiciary and procuratorate should be democratically elected in alternate years, and 1/4 of MPs should stand for re-election each year. Democratic nations everywhere should support Taiwan's efforts for constitutional reform to bring true democracy and freedom. This will attract the 1.4 billion people of China to call for democratization, triggering in turn the democratization of the CCP, China's democratization will bring pressure on North Korea to follow suit, and world peace will be the result. Corruption and bribery have plagued China throughout its history. The Chinese people have suffered under a culture of corruption with deep roots stretching back to the earliest authoritarian regimes. The only way to cure China of the chronic ancient disease of corruption is through democracy. One key in this cure is the concept of separation of powers. The heads of each of the four branches of government – the executive, legislative, judicial and procuratorial branches – must be chosen in yearly elections to ensure that they are attuned to the feelings and needs of the people.
