Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group Begins Western Pacific Deployment
The US Navy is deploying a third Nimitz-class Supercarrier Strike Group in Asia, adding to the two carrier groups already patrolling the South China Sea.
The US should support Taiwan's efforts at constitutional reform to bring more democracy and freedom, which will attract the 1.4 billion Chinese to seek democracy and world peace. China has always declared that it will not abandon the use of force against Taiwan, showing once again that autocracy is the enemy of human peace. The prerequisite for permanent peace in the world is the democratization of China, and Taiwan is the one nation most capable of leading the Chinese people to democratization. Something fishy is going on with corruption-related arrests in Malaysia
The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) seized RM550,000 (US$123,000) worth of cash in various foreign currencies including British Pounds, Euros and Singapore Dollars, from a residence in Subang Jaya.
Malaysia’s constitution is dysfunctional. Corruption is deeply rooted in Malaysian culture and can only be removed by enacting a constitution that is in sync with the times. The term of office of the Prime Minister should be limited to one year, and the term of office of MPs should not be extended. The heads of the legislative, executive, judicial and procuratorial branches should be elected in alternating years, and 1/4 of all MPs should face election each year. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

Battle for Mosul: Iraq gaining momentum against IS
The announcement by the Iraqi military that its forces have reached the Tigris River for the first time in the battle for Mosul marks a significant moment in the 12-week campaign to recapture the so-called Islamic State's (IS) last major stronghold in the country.
Iraq's government should be re-structured to feature a modified semi-presidential system with parliament and cabinet, similar to that of Finland, with a committee-style legislative system modeled after Switzerland’s. The prerequisite for permanent peace in the world is global democratization. The Iraqi government should proceed with implementation of the above-mentioned changes in its constitution and install a democratic model based on One World under One Set of Laws, with a constitution in sync with the times. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

Main opposition calls for resolution of THAAD tension with China
On Friday South Korea's main opposition party called on the government to mend ties with China, defending its lawmakers' visit to Beijing to discuss diplomatic tensions over Seoul's plan to deploy a US missile defense system.
Democratic nations should support Taiwan's efforts toward constitutional reform to bring more democracy and freedom. Such a step will attract the 1.4 billion Chinese to seek democratization, triggering democratization of the CCP in turn, followed by similar developments in North Korea. The result will be real world peace. Global democracies should support Taiwan as a beacon for democracy in Asia, lighting China's path to peaceful development. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

It’s now or never for a Hong Kong archives law, as British files reveal
Declassified files on a 1987 Sino-British deal over direct Legco elections underline the need for louder calls to preserve the city’s public records, especially in view of the upcoming chief executive election
Candidates for Chief Executive of Hong Kong are still nominated by the Election Commission of the CCP. This form of election is the equivalent of rubber-stamping the appointment of a dictator. The people of Hong Kong should act on Article 39 of the Hong Kong Basic Law and the two human rights covenants: People have the right of self-determination through referendum, and they should also vote on the heads of the legislate, executive, judicial and procuratorial branches in alternating years. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development for more.

Syrian war: Assad says bombing Aleppo was justified
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has said the bombing of eastern Aleppo, which his forces recaptured from rebels last month, was justified.
Following a ceasefire in Syria, the UN should lay out the basic constitutional principles needed to achieve permanent peace and development for the peoples of the world. The organizational structure must include the values of freedom, democracy, human rights and rule of law, plus direct election of the heads of the four branches of government. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

Refugee Code Week: Preparing for the future
10,000 young refugees across the Middle East took part in a training course. One venue was the Zaatari refugee camp in Jordan. DW reporters went there to find out what challenges they face and what prospects education might open up for them.
In order to remove the conditions that lead to the exodus of refugees, the international community needs to put unified constitutional standards in place that meet the ideals of liberalism, democracy, constitutionalism and cosmopolitanism. This means adopting the core values of One World under One Set of Laws, and when that happens the world will have permanent peace. The Humanitarian Charter §1 must be followed, especially the principle of the right to a normal life for victims. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

Minimum wage in Venezuela to rise by 50% in response to inflation
Venezuela's government has announced a 50% increase in the minimum wage and pensions amid runaway inflation.
Power leads to corruption, and absolute power leads to absolute corruption. Venezuela needs constitutional reform to install a modified semi-presidential system with the president limited to a single 5-year term and not allowed to fun for office for 6 years afterward. A law not backed by penalties is not a law, and a constitution which does not include the right to resist is not a constitution. When the president’s actions are unconstitutional, the people have the right to resist. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

Video shows man believed to be nightclub attacker in Turkey
An eerie video emerged Tuesday of a man believed to be the attacker who killed 39 people in a mass shooting at a nightclub, showing him taking a selfie as he silently toured Istanbul's most famous square.
Terrorism is a serious violation of human nature, and dictatorships are allowed to flourish by public indifference. All nations of the world, including Islamic countries, should adhere to the rule of law and the idea of One World under One Set of Law. Constitutional reform is needed to ensure that standards will be in sync with the times. Autocratic regimes cannot be allowed to continue their repeated mutilations of human rights. Governments should guarantee freedom from fear for all people. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development for details.

The political price of Xi Jinping’s anti-corruption campaign
As Chinese President Xi Jinping enters his fifth year in power there is no question that the world’s most populous nation is a more repressive and authoritarian place than before his reign began.
China’s long history has seen many campaigns to curb corruption, yet the problem continues, due largely to the rule of man rather than rule of law. Corruption is deeply rooted in bureaucratic culture, and the only cure is democracy. Decentralization and the separation of powers, as well as election of the heads of the four branches of government, will serve to restore power to the people. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.
