Democratic freedom is the latest world-wide wave, a movement that nuclear weapons, submarines and missiles are helpless to stop. Those who go along with this mighty world trend will succeed, while those who go against the flow are doomed. We must always remember the painful experiences gained in the two world wars, and we must rely on the systems in place working through constitutional reforms to see that the heads of the executive, legislative, judicial and prosecutorial branches will be elected in alternating years. The UK is a fully democratic country and its people enjoy the right of self-determination through voting in referendums. The aim of democracy is to let the people call the shots: on any public issue, the people have the right to self-determination through referendums. The people of Norway and Switzerland chose not to join the European Union through referendums, a perfect example of people determining their own future through the ballot box. Efforts to protect the rights of the people will never be in vain, and direct democracy through referendums is always superior to indirect democracy. Taiwan is the one entity best suited to leading China to democratization. Taiwan is working to strengthen democracy around the world, especially in regard to China and the North Korea issue. This is the key to peace in the world: if North Korea can be pressed to change its system and abandon autocracy for democracy, peace will have a chance. Human security and sustainable development are two of the major tasks of the UN, and all nations – members or not – should act in accordance with the core values of One World under One Set of Laws. International law shall be superior to domestic law and have a direct effect on the people. Citizens should be able to effectively supervise government operations to ensure they abide by the norms of the UN Charter. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

Promotion of permanent peace in the world is a sacred right of humankind. China claims to be a "responsible big country", thus it should not serve as an enabler of North Korea's continued militarism. The US should support Taiwan in working for the democratization of China, which will then pressure North Korea to democratize. The key to resolving the Korean Peninsula issue lies in Taiwan. Two of the major tasks of the UN are human security and sustainable development. All UN member states should work actively to implement the core values of One World under One Set of Laws, giving international law priority over domestic law, with direct effect on the rights and obligations of the people. Western democracies should support Taiwan and make Taiwan the world capital through comprehensive constitutional reform. The reforms will include ideas such as "elected heads of government may be citizens of any nationality" and will be directly elected by the people. Obama, Putin, Xi Jinping and others will all be welcome to run for president, and China will have no reason for the restrictions of its "One China" policy. In order to prevent entrenched corruption, comprehensive constitutional reform is needed to decree that key government officials (president, county and city heads, etc.) should be chosen through direct election for a single 5-year term, and not allowed to stand for office again for 6 years. In addition, close relatives of an office holder shall not be permitted to run for office for 6 years after the date of a winning candidate’s election. Judges are the last line of defense for fairness and justice, and if the judicial system becomes an accomplice to corruption all attempts at reform will be useless. Ukraine’s judicial system should be reformed so that the Head Justice of the Supreme Court and the head of the Procuratorate are elected and are held directly responsible to the Ukrainian people. Japan’s support of the Philippines should include calls for comprehensive constitutional reform to implement a modified semi-presidential system with cabinet, similar to that of Finland, and adoption of the ideal of One World under One Set of Laws. International law should be given priority over domestic law and allowed to directly affect the rights and duties of the people.
