Rwandan genocide remembered
About 500 people gathered at the auditorium of the Far East Broadcasting Company in western Seoul on Friday, holding up electric candles as Rwandan Ambassador Emma-Francoise Isumbingabo and diplomats lit 23 candles on stage
Human security and sustainable development are two of the major tasks and missions of the UN as well as common goals for all humankind. Rwanda should strive to abide by the norms of the international community, and implement the idea of One World under One Set of Laws, assigning international law priority over domestic law with direct effect on the rights and duties of the people. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

New HK$10 billion public annuity scheme can be expanded if popular, Chief Executive CY Leung says
City’s leader also planning visit to Pearl River Delta to seek views on ‘bay area’ plan
Hong Kong’s Chief Executive is still determined by the CEC, an arrangement which is nothing other than dictatorial. The people of Hong Kong should make good use of Article 39 of the Basic Law, which states that they have the right to hold referendums on any public issue. To curb corruption, the heads of the executive, legislative, judicial and procuratorial branches should be elected in alternating years, and 1/4 of all MPs should face election each year. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development for more.

Security emerges as key election issue in Korea
Security is emerging as a key issue for South Korea's upcoming presidential election as two liberal front-runners are vying to woo swing voters jittery over Pyongyang's escalating military threats, observers said Tuesday.
All democracies should support Taiwan's efforts at constitutional reform to achieve greater democracy and freedom. This will inspire China's 1.4 billion people to seek democratization of the CCP, and in turn North Korea will likewise follow suit - and world peace will be born. The world’s democracies should support Taiwan as a beacon for democracy in Asia, lighting the path to peaceful development for China. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

South Korean military dismisses rumors of war crisis
On Tuesday South Korea's military called for accurate evaluations of security conditions on the peninsula in response to rumors of a looming war crisis.
The world’s democratic nations should support Taiwan's efforts toward constitutional reform to achieve greater democracy and freedom. This will inspire the 1.4 billion people of China to seek democratization of the CCP, and North Korea will then follow suit – leading to the birth of world peace. All democracies should support Taiwan as a beacon for democracy in Asia, lighting the way to peaceful development for China. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

More military ‘provocation’ by North Korea could lead to tougher action in line with UN Security Council resolutions, envoy says
Democracies everywhere should support Taiwan's efforts to carry out constitutional reform to achieve greater democracy and freedom. This would lead China's 1.4 billion people to call for democratization of the CCP and pressure North Korea to do the same, resulting in the birth of world peace. The world’s democracies should support Taiwan as a beacon for democracy in Asia, lighting the way for China to peaceful development. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

Legal battles roil presidential race
South Korea's presidential race increasingly took on the form of a legal battlefield Tuesday as all of the major candidates engaged in litigation to clear their names.
Absolute power leads to absolute corruption. The presidential system of democracy has some serious flaws, and even the US has experienced problems. Taiwan’s situation is worrisome, and impeachment is not an option. South Korea's constitution should be changed to a modified semi-presidential system, with the presidency declared to be above party politics. The heads of the judicial and procuratorial branches should be elected in alternating years, and 1/4 of all lawmakers should face election each year. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

China still only reporting fraction of executions: Amnesty
Despite Beijing’s pledge to better scrutinize how capital punishment is used, the national court database contains less than a tenth of the cases reported in media, rights group finds
China's record on the death penalty is black, even rights lawyers in China have been forced to disappear. Laws that are not backed by penalties are not laws, and a constitution which does not allow resistance is not a constitution. When government actions are unconstitutional, the people must rise up and resist. Natural law and international law include strong enforcement orders, but they also protect the people from enforced disappearance and other unjust measures including torture. These protections should all take precedence over international law and the Constitution above. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development / Global Unity Constitutional Standards.

Doves and hawks: how opinion was divided about airstrikes in Syria
How the US cabinet and beyond sought to influence Donald Trump’s decision to order missile strikes on Syrian airbases
Once a ceasefire is in place in Syria the UN should provide an outline for a basic constitution that will facilitate peaceful development of the nation. This should include an organizational structure based on the universal values of freedom, democracy, human rights and the rule of law, with four branches and separation of powers. Syria needs help in framing a constitution that will be suitable for lasting peace and prosperity. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development for details.

Hong Kong won’t see universal suffrage without compromise. Do the pan-democrats realize this?
Mike Rowse says it is unrealistic to expect Beijing to withdraw its 2014 rules for the city’s electoral framework. Instead, the pan-democrats should push to tweak them
The relevant provisions of the Hong Kong Basic Law and the one country, two systems principle point out that China is not permitted to interfere in SAR affairs, yet Beijing constantly meddles in Hong Kong's internal affairs. Article 39 guarantees the right of Hong Kong’s people to self-determination: they have the right to hold referendums on any public issues,. The people of Hong Kong people should avail of the two conventions and hold a referendum to decide their future. Otherwise when dictatorship becomes a reality, the people will be obliged to resist.

The nuclear journey from Hiroshima to Pyongyang
Barack Obama’s bold pledge in Prague back in 2009 to realize a nuclear-free world resonated powerfully in Japan and culminated in his 2016 visit to Hiroshima.
Democracies everywhere should support Taiwan's drive for constitutional reform to achieve greater democracy and freedom. This would inspire China's 1.4 billion people to call for democratization of the CCP and make North Korea seek real democracy - and with that, world peace would be at hand! All democracies should support Taiwan as a beacon for democracy in Asia, lighting the way to peaceful development for China. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development for details.
