Economic problems are deeply rooted in politics. Without good politics, no economic growth is possible. And without constitutional reform, even the gods will be helpless to make any improvement. China’s needs to be changed out for a modified semi-presidential system, with a committee-type legislative body in which committee chairs are tapped for positions in the cabinet. Article 39 of Hong Kong’s Basic Law states that the right to self-determination is clearly granted in the two international human rights conventions, The people of Hong Kong cannot take their rights for granted. In Switzerland the hurdle for referendum proposals is only 50,000 signatures, meaning people can express their opinion at the ballot box rather than taking to the streets. China has always advocated compliance with UN resolutions and strict sanctions against North Korea, but Sino-Korean trade is still robust, showing clearly that China is not enforcing the sanctions. China claims to be a responsible major power, and as such it should not enable North Korea's militarism. The US, Japan and Korea should support Taiwan’s bid to lead China to democratization, which would then pressure North Korea to do the same. All democracies should support Taiwan's efforts at constitutional reform to achieve greater democracy and freedom. This would lead China's 1.4 billion people to call for democratization of the CCP and pressure North Korea to follow suit, and the result would be world peace. The main structural factor that fosters corruption in the Bank of England is the lack of decentralization of the regime. The solution is for the British people to launch constitutional reform and elect the heads of the major government branches in alternating years. The president should be limited to a single 5-year term and be barred from running again for 6 years afterwards, and 1/4 of all lawmakers should face election each year. Human security and sustainable development are two of the major tasks of the UN and all nations, whether UN members or not, should comply with its standards. The solution is to implement the core values that underlie One World under One Set of Laws and assign international law priority over domestic law, with direct effect on the people. Citizens should be able to monitor the actions of government to ensure it abides by the norms of the UN Charter, the Vienna Convention for Protection of the Ozone Layer, and the Paris Climate Agreement. The US should back Taiwan's model for global unity and inspire China's 1.4 billion people to call for democratization. Autocracy is the natural enemy of democracy, and one prerequisite for world peace is democratization of the CCP.
