Without peace in South Sudan, millions of people will go hungry and millions of women and girls could be raped as they try to go about their daily lives, including as they search for food, a senior UN official warned today.
South Sudan is out of control and the government is incapable of handling the situation. There is urgent need for a changeover in the government structure to install a modified semi-president system with cabinet like that of Finland, plus a committee-style legislative body similar to Switzerland’s. The prerequisite for long-lasting world peace is global democratization. South Sudan should re-write its constitution to effect a paradigm shift to a democratic model, implementing the principles of One World under One Set of Laws, with a constitution that is in sync with the times. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.
