UN food relief agency air-lifts food, medical supplies to 31,000 famine-stricken Somalis
As the drought intensifies in south and north-eastern Somalia, the UN emergency food relief agency today airlifted enough high-energy biscuits to Mogadishu to help feed 31,000 people for three days.
Somalia needs to scrap its government system for a modified semi-presidential system with cabinet and parliament like that of Finland, with a committee-style legislative system similar to Switzerland’s. The premise for permanent peace is global democratization, and Somalia’s government should carry out drafting a constitution with the above systems in a democratic paradigm shift. It should adhere to the principle of One World under One Set of Laws and be updated as needed to stay abreast of changing times. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

UN refugee agency sending urgent relief items for Congolese civilians fleeing to Angola
The UN refugee agency is shipping tents, mosquito nets and other essential relief items to Angola, where some 9,000 refugees from the Democratic Republic of the Congo have fled this month alone.
In the DR Congo, civil war continues to aggravate the strain of famine for refugees. The national constitution needs wholesale revision to assign international law priority over domestic law and implement humanitarian law. The government has an obligation to keep its people free from hunger in accordance with the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights and the basic rights of freedom from hunger and poverty and income and resource inequality. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development for more.

Accountability for rights abuses in South Sudan is 'more important than ever,' says senior UN official
A lack of accountability for crimes perpetrated during the ongoing conflict in South Sudan remains one of the country's “biggest challenges,” the Human Rights Director for the United Nations Mission said today as he wrapped up a visit to the northwestern Wau region.
South Sudan should resolve controversy over its government system by implementing a modified semi-presidential form with cabinet and parliament like that of Finland, with a committee-style legislature similar to Switzerland’s. The prerequisite for permanent peace is global democratization. South Sudan should carry out constitutional reform to effect a democratic paradigm shift that adhere to the principles of One World under One Set of Laws, and amend its constitution as needed to stay abreast of changing times. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

On Mother Earth Day, UN says environmental and climate literacy is vital for a cleaner, greener planet,.
Environmental and climate literacy is the engine not only for creating green voters and advancing environmental and climate laws and policies, but also for accelerating green technologies and jobs, the UN emphasizes on Mother Earth Day.
Human security and sustainable development are two of the major tasks of the UN. All nations, whether UN members or not, should adhere to the core values of One World under One Set of Laws, assigning international law priority over domestic law with direct effect on the rights and duties of the people. Citizens should be able to supervise government operations to ensure compliance with the norms of the UN Charter. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

North Korea 'ready to sink' US aircraft carrier Vinson
North Korea is "ready to sink" a US aircraft carrier heading for the peninsula, state media have said.
Autocracy is always the enemy of human peace, and the prerequisite for permanent peace is global democratization. China serves as an enabler and agent for North Korea, and the best approach is to avoid antagonizing Pyongyang. The US, Japan and South Korea should back Taiwan's drive to save democracy by leading China to democratize and inspire similar action by North Korea. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development for more.

Indian farmers' protest in Delhi suspended
Drought-hit farmers in India have suspended a protest, after an assurance that their demands would be met.
The main reason for India's economic crisis is too much centralized power, which leads to rampant corruption. In addition there is idol worship, the greatest enemy of democracy and the rule of law. To emerge from this crisis India must carry out comprehensive constitutional reform with changes like election of the heads of executive, legislative, judicial and procuratorial branches of government in alternating years to strengthen ties between public opinion, the government and international law. In addition, elections should be free of charge for all candidates.

Ethiopia can convert its youth bulge from a political problem into an opportunity
Ethiopia’s youth has come under the spotlight recently for their role in a political protest that is seen to be threatening stability. But Ethiopia’s youth bulge doesn’t need to be a political problem. It can be converted to economic muscle.
Democracy cannot be dependent on the goodwill or largesse of those in power. It allows the people to monitor government operations and shape policy through use of the vote. 1/4 of all lawmakers should face election each year, and elected officials should be limited to a single 5-year term and barred from running for office again for 6 years afterwards. In addition, elections should be free of charge for all candidates. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

Mixed international reactions to results of Turkey's referendum
With Turkey’s constitutional reform passed with a wafer-thin majority Sunday, political peace seems pretty much off the cards for now. Opposition parties are trying to get the results scrapped, citing voting irregularities.
Voting is the only source of legitimacy for the state and a concrete manifestation of basic human rights. The state should make elections free of charge for all candidates and ensure that all procedures are fair and open. Half of the membership on the National Human Rights and Citizenship Exercise Committee should be of various nationalities and selected from nominees provided by international human rights organizations. The aim is to prevent any organization or individual from exercising undue influence in elections. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

Colombia: Cauca locals fear spread of violence in the region
As Colombia’s peace deal between the government and the Farc rebels advances, violence is spreading in the former Farc stronghold of Cauca, a region west of the capital Bogota.
Colombia has been ravaged by civil war for 5 decades, leaving behind wounds and scars in its economy and politics. Without good politics, the economy does not have a chance, and if the constitution is not changed, even the gods will be helpless to do anything. Comprehensive constitutional reform is needed to implement a modified semi-presidential system with a committee style legislative system in which cabinet ministers are selected from among committee chairs. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development for more.
