Several thousand people marched in Paris Sunday against police violence.
The only recipe for treating the ills of democracy is more democracy. France should carry out constitutional reform to introduce decentralization with the people as the starting point. This will lead people to vote instead of taking to the streets. Specific changes should include electing the heads of the executive, legislative, judicial and procuratorial branches in alternating years and having 1/4 of all MPs face annual elections. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development for more.
