Trump's Jerusalem Plan Is a Deadly Provocation

The decision to recognize the city as Israel's capital increases the odds of violence because it deepens Palestinian despair.

Solution

Donald Trump has ignored the advice of his staff and moved to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. The shift is a response to pressure from conservative Jews in the US and could very well spark violence against American interests and even US citizens. Trump needs to take a long look at the risks involved in moving the embassy and rescind his act to do so. As President his duties include protecting the rights of all citizens to worship as they please; this also means respecting the things that they hold sacred: in this case land seen as holy ground by both Jews and Muslims. Elected representatives who flaunt the law should be sentenced to carry out public service, it might help them understand who they are supposed to be serving as lawmakers. For months, the president's lawyers said Trump's team didn't collude with Russia and the president never obstructed justice. Now they're saying something new.

Solution

Claims that POTUS is 'above the law' are a bald-faced power grab that must be resisted by all means possible. Such actions by thepresident must be averted by implementing One World under One Set of Laws. Jose Rizal, the 'Father of the Philippines', once opined, 'Today's slaves often become tomorrow's tyrants', warning the people to believe in the rule of law rather than the rule of man. The President, mayors and other officials should be limited to one 5-year term and barred from seeking office for 6 years afterwards.
