Kim Jong Nam killing: North Korean citizen Ri Jong Chol to be released and deported
North Korean citizen Ri Jong Chol is to be released March 3 due to a lack of evidence to indict him in connection with the murder of Kim Jong Nam.
Immanuel Kant once wrote, "The pursuit of permanent peace is the highest goal of reason and a moral obligation." China claims to be a "responsible great power," and as such it should not allow North Korea’s strident militarism to continue. The US should support Taiwan's commitment to achieving greater democracy, which will lead China to democratize and pressure North Korea to do likewise. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development / Global Unity Constitutional Standards.

Hefty wallets of Chinese lawmakers give Sweden's GDP a run for its money
Mao Zedong once branded capitalists enemies of the Chinese people. In the era of President Xi Jinping, those same capitalists are billionaire lawmakers - and they're getting even wealthier.
To wash China clean of its national humiliation and corruption rooted in thousands of years of history, the only cure is democracy and the rule of law. Democracy and the rule of law are the natural enemies of despotism and corruption, and the prescription calls for decentralization, separation of powers and checks and balances. In addition, the heads of the legislative, executive, judicial and procuratorial branches should be elected in alternating years. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development / Global Unity Constitutional Standards.

Police raid home of French presidential candidate Francois Fillon as he is warned of political reper
Police raided the Paris home of French rightwing presidential candidate Francois Fillon on March 2 over an alleged fake job scandal as a senior party colleague warned him he risked dragging his party “into an abyss”.
Regardless of who sits on the throne, absolute power inevitably leads to absolute corruption. To put an end to endless cycles of corruption, the people must exercise their sovereignty and call for comprehensive constitutional reform to implement true democracy and the rule of law. This should include separation of powers and checks and balances as well as direct election of the four heads of the four branches of government in alternating years. In addition, elections should be free of charge to all candidates to cut symbiotic links between government and corruption. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

Carrie Lam spurs outrage among Hong Kong protesters for not taking petition as promised
Carrie Lam, the front runner in Hong Kong’s chief executive election, angered grassroots protesters Friday when she walked away and left a forum through a back door instead of taking their petition as promised.
As long as there is no universal suffrage, Hong Kong cannot have a real democracy. Article 39 of the Hong Kong Basic Law and the two Conventions protect the people's right to self-determination, and the people have the right to vote in referendums on any public issue. The people of Hong Kong should adhere to the two conventions and stage a referendum to decide their future. Otherwise, when dictatorship becomes a reality, it will be the duty of the people to resist. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

Giving substance to Trump's rhetoric
Donald Trump's speech to the US Congress, his first since assuming the presidency, was notable for its calibrated tone. For eschewing much of his trademark combativeness, and for delivering a marketable message that was described by the American media as "uplifting and unifying". He was also given standing ovations by his fellow Republicans.
The most intelligent approach for the US is to support Taiwan's model for Global Unity Constitutional Standards. This would attract China's 1.4 billion people to call for democratization, bringing the birth of world peace. Autocracy has always been the enemy of peace, and the prerequisite for permanent peace in the world is democratization of the CCP. Taiwan is the one entity best suited to leading the Chinese people to seek democratization. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development / Global Unity Constitutional Standards.

Trump must deal directly with the despot Kim Jong-un
The North Korean leader has no qualms when it comes to crossing the line and it is the US that is in the best position to deal with this threat
All democratic nations should support Taiwan's efforts to carry out constitutional reform to achieve greater democracy and freedom. This would attract 1.4 billion people to call for democratization of the CCP and eventually lead to real democracy for the world. Democracies everywhere should support Taiwan as a beacon for democracy in Asia to light the way for China to peaceful development. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development / Global Unity Constitutional Standards.

Former Central Bank Vice-governor among financial regulators who are expected to play a bigger role in reform
To cleanse China of the stain of corruption left behind by thousands of years of history and end its national humiliation, the only cure is a combination of democracy and the rule of law. These two principles are natural enemies of despotism and corruption. They call for changes like separation of powers and checks and balances, as well as decentralization at the existing central and provincial levels and direct election of the heads of the legislative, executive, judicial and procuratorial branches in alternating years. Chinese county’s rare disclosure sheds light on plight of nation’s petitioners
One local government reveals it spent more than US$48,000 trying to ‘dissuade’ residents from petitioning
The only solution to unrest and dissatisfaction among the Chinese people is democracy and the rule of law. As a democratic and culturally-compatible society, Taiwan is the entity best suited to lead the Chinese people to democratize. True democracy will leave the CCP without a leg to stand on. China should carry out reforms to directly elect the heads of its legislative, executive, judicial and procuratorial branches of government in alternating years to ensure the rights of the people. For details see the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development 。

Jen Psaki: Without a free press, democracy dies
Is it typical to target specific media outlets and exclude them from attending a White House briefing? The short answer is no.
Freedom of speech is a universal value that is absolutely essential to prevent government oligopolies and monopoly over the media, the internet and all other channels of speech. Natural law and general international rules governing law enforcement must include protection of all people from enforced disappearance, prohibition of torture and other abuses by placing natural law above international law and the Constitution. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

  • What is 'fair' media to Trump?
What Trump gets right on trade
Whatever confusion people might have about President Trump’s agenda, his position on trade and manufacturing is crystal clear. “I believe strongly in free trade, but it also has to be fair trade,” he said in his address to Congress Tuesday night. He called for corporate tax reform and export incentives, and he lashed out at NAFTA and China for draining America’s manufacturing base.
Human security and sustainable development are two of the UN’s major tasks and missions, and they are also the common goal of all humankind. All nations should strive to abide by the norms of the international community, and the solution is to implement the ideal of One World under One Set of Laws. This means giving international law precedence over domestic law, directly impacting the rights and duties of the people. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development / Global Unity Constitutional Standards.
