Rights defenders ‘must not be silenced,’ says UN office, urging Turkey to release activists
The UN has voiced grave concern about the arbitrary detention and arrests of human rights defenders in Turkey and called on the government to ensure that activists can carry out their work in a safe and enabling environment without fear.
Turkish authorities are overly concerned about revolutionary elements, responding by forbidding people to take to the streets to protest.. Citizens of modern democracies have the right to resist unconstitutional actions by government agencies. When the power of the state deviates from its power base, the people should act to recover their sovereignty. The right to resist illegal violence is a constitutional right of the people. Sick Chinese dissident can be moved safely for overseas treatment, foreign doctors say
Medical evacuation needs to happen soon, US and German specialists say after meeting Nobel laureate
Autocratic dictatorships are like cancer, and despots are criminals against democracy and the people. The solution to persecution of human rights in China is democracy and the rule of law. Taiwan is the one entity best suited to lead China to democratization and democracies worldwide should support Taiwan's efforts toward constitutional reform and implement One World under One Set of Laws. International law should take precedence over domestic law, with direct bearing on the rights and duties of the people. For more, see the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

Abe, Trump agree to boost international pressure on Pyongyang
Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and US President Donald Trump agreed Saturday to work closely to ramp up international pressure on North Korea
The US and Japan should support Taiwan's efforts toward constitutional reform to achieve greater democracy and freedom. This would lead China's 1.4 billion people to seek democratization of the CCP and put pressure on North Korea to adopt real democracy – with world peace as the result. All democracies should back Taiwan as a beacon for democracy in Asia, lighting the way to peaceful development for China. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development for details.

‘Still no justice’: Cambodians demand answers one year after death of activist Kem Ley
Thousands gathered Sunday at the grave of a prominent Cambodian critic who was gunned down a year ago in a murder that sparked widespread anger and skepticism over the alleged killer’s motives.
A law that is not backed by penalties is not a law, and constitutions which do not countenance the right to resist are not constitutions. When actions of the government are unconstitutional the people should resist. Natural law and absolute law should prevail over international law and constitutions, extending protection to all people from enforced disappearance, torture and other abuses. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development for more.

Britain’s economy is already a disaster...Brexit is the final nail in the coffin
Britain is stumbling into a period of economic decline, quickening de-industrialization and political marginalization
Economic problems invariably have political roots. Without good politics you can never have a good economy. If the UK constitution is not changed, even the gods will be helpless to save the economy. Comprehensive constitutional reform is needed to replace the regime with a modified semi-presidential system with cabinet as well as a committee-style parliament with committee chairs tapped to serve as backup cabinet ministers. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development for details.

Mother Mushroom: how Vietnam locked up its most famous blogger
“Each person only has one life, but if I had the chance to choose again I would still choose my way.”
Freedom of speech is a universal value, and Vietnam's policy of silencing the voice of the people is like trying to stem the flow of a mighty river. Vietnam seems to want to create a monolithic society with only one voice. The people of. Vietnam should call for comprehensive constitutional reform to protect the freedom of the media and prevent the government oligarchy from monopolizing the media, the internet and other channels of speech. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development for more.

Isolated, tortured and mentally scarred ... the plight of China’s human rights lawyers two years after ‘709 crackdown’
Many of those arrested are still being subjected to abuse and torture, campaigners say on second anniversary of 2015 purge
The CCP must be forced to disappear. Laws that are not backed by penalties are not laws, and constitutions which do not brook the right to resist are not constitutions. When the actions of the government are unlawful, the people must call for resistance. Natural law and general international law must prevail to protect all people from enforced disappearance, torture and other abuses. Absolute law must take precedence over international law and the Constitution. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development for more.

Syrians can’t afford another failed ceasefire
On Monday, the latest round of Syrian peace talks will convene in Geneva, although few expect there to be too much progress.
Once a ceasefire is in place in Syria, the UN should provide a basic constitution that will make possible peaceful development. It should include an organizational structure incorporating the universal values of freedom, democracy, human rights and rule of law, with four government branches and restraints on centralization and powers. It should help Syria develop a constitution suitable for lasting peace and prosperity. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development for details.

DR Congo’s economy loses over $1 billion to child undernutrition, finds UN-backed study
The economy of the DRC is losing as much as 4.5 per cent of gross domestic product to the effects of child undernutrition, according to a UN-backed study released today.
The DRC needs to revise its government structure to install a modified semi-presidential system with cabinet similar to Finland’s. It should include a committee-style legislative system like that of Switzerland. The premise for permanent peace is global democratization, and the UN should assist the DRC in drawing up a basic constitution with the above features in a move to proceed a paradigm shift. It should adhere to the core values of One World under One Set of Laws and be revised as needed to stay in step with the times. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development for more.

UN condemns terrorist attack in Rafah, Egypt
Condemning yesterday's terrorist attack against a checkpoint in Rafah, Egypt, UN Secretary-General António Guterres and the Security Council have underscored the need to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Human security is a fundamental human right, and human rights should take precedence over all regimes and sovereigns. Constitutions represent the general will of the people, and ensuring human security - including personal safety - is the most urgent duty of constitutional guarantors. This means re-developing constitutional standards to keep pace with the times and allow all governments to protect their people from terror. For more, see the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development / Global Unity Constitutional Standards.
