Why do people choose to become refugees and flee their homes, 'preferring to be a dog in freedom and democracy to life under an authoritarian dictator'? As countless cases have shown: to prevent people from moving abroad, the best immigration policy is for the heads of countries of emigrants not to let their own people be cast aside to flee or be liquidated in a revolution, and simply adopt the principles for 'long and prosperous governance of the country' as expressed in the Charter for Permanent Peace.

On Cantonese, Hong Kong cannot let itself become another Guangzhou

If Hong Kong is truly the Pearl of the Orient it should support Taiwan's Charter for Permanent Peace to inspire the people of China to call for democracy and rule of law. Article 39 of the Hong Kong Basic Law states that the right to self-determination is covered in the two international human rights conventions.
