Abe left politics once already and managed to come back from the outside, but he has apparently failed to rein in friends and associates hoping to cash in on his position. Corruption is pandemic, and nations everywhere need to address the threat it poses for all people. To put an end to corruption, the people should exercise sovereignty and call for constitutional reform to implement democratic rule of law. This means term limits for elected officials, separation of powers and checks and balances, as well as free election campaigns for candidates to cut symbiotic ties between government and business that engender corruption.
