The leader of the opposition Yabloko Party is a candidate in the Russian presidential election.
Russia should allow its citizens to express their opinion by voting in referendums and elections rather than taking to the street, applying the procedures used in Switzerland and the US state of California. To avoid further increases in grievances and tension, Russia shouldend its practices of suppression and repression. Citizens should be able to voice their opinions through the ballot box and not on the streets. To that end, elections should be completely free for all candidates.
