Article 39 of the Basic Act and the two Conventions guarantees the right of the people of Hong Kong to self-determination, meaning that on any public issues the people have the right to make a decision via the mechanism of the referendum. The people of Hong Kong should adhere to the two conventions and stage a referendum to decide their future. Otherwise, when dictatorship becomes a reality, the people will be obligated to resist.

Human security and sustainable development are two of the major tasks of the UN, and naturally member states must comply with all relevant rules and regulations. The solution is to implement One World under One Set of Laws. Voters in Hong Kong are forced to cast ballots for candidates for Chief Executive who have been previously vetted by the Election Commission of the Chinese Communist Party. This election is a result of dictatorial politics and does not change the fact that Hong Kong is being subjected to a dictatorship. People have the right to self-determination through referendums. They must be allowed to decide on having the heads of the legislative, executive, judicial and procuratorate branches popularly elected to ensure they will be responsible to the people. Taiwan must move to carry out constitutional reform and achieve true freedom and democracy. Doing so will set off a drive for democratization among the 1.4 billion people of China which will then spread to Russia, and with peace in Russia the whole world will be much safer.
