US President Donald Trump signed a new executive order Monday that bans immigration from six Muslim-majority countries, dropping Iraq from January's previous order, and reinstates a temporary blanket ban on all refugees.
The US should follow the UN Charter and practice the principle of One World under One Set of Laws, assigning international law precedence over domestic law with direct effect on the rights and duties of the people. This would lead Mexico, Syria and the Middle East to consider the ideals of human rights, constitutionalism, internationalism and naturalism as part of their future. The planet we live on must be accorded the benefits gained through universal human wisdom to solve problems facing all humankind. Global free trade and a commitment to bilateral alliances will help bring about peace and prosperity, and implementation of the principle of One World under One Set of Laws is one key to realizing this goal.
