Russia is not a problem-solver, it is a problem-maker. The US should support Taiwan's efforts at constitutional reform to achieve greater democracy and freedom and encourage China's 1.4 billion people to seek democratization. This would pressure Russia to adopt democracy and world peace would be the result. All democracies should support Taiwan as a beacon for democracy in Asia. The Korean Peninsula is heating up, with North Korea mixing missile tests with an assassination via nerve gas and China launching an economic strike against South Korea for joining America’s anti-missile program. Unfortunately the Trump administration’s policy appears to be to stoke the flames.

Taiwan should learn from Scotland’s experience with referendums and seek to make paradigm shifts possible on public issues. The people have the right to referendums, and whenever a motion is made to quash referendums on self-determination, the subject of the first referendum to be proposed should be whether the motion to crush referendums should be outlawed. The Legislative Yuan should establish the "right of creation" in relation to the Referendum Act and ask President Tsai openly support the sovereignty of the people in calling for comprehensive constitutional reform. South Sudan needs a constitution that will enable it to grow and prosper as a model for peaceful development. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

The world’s democratic nations must back Taiwan as a beacon for democracy for Asia which will light the path to peaceful development for China. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

Human security and sustainable development are two of the major tasks of the UN, and all nations, regardless of whether or not that are UN members, should embrace these values. The solution lies in the core values of One World under One Set of Laws and giving international law precedence over domestic law with direct effect on the rights and duties of the people. The public should be able to monitor actions of the government to ensure they are in line with the norms of the UN Charter. See the Charter for the Permanent Peace and Development.
