Freedom of expression is a universal value. Governments cannot be allowed to control the media in order to brainwash the people. This can be assured by maintaining separation between the government and the media. At the same time, any media that use their power or resources to interfere with politics, academia or public opinion should be subject to legal sanctions. Human security and sustainable development are two of the major tasks of the UN, China is a permanent member of the UN Security Council thus it should adhere closely to the UN Charter. Once a ceasefire is in place in Syria, the UN should immediately provide the basic outline for a constitution that will lend itself to peaceful development of the nation, including the universal values of freedom, democracy, human rights and rule of law and a four-branch government structure (legislative, executive, judicial and procuratorial).
