The Swiss hurdle for proposing a referendum is a mere 50,000 signatures, meaning citizens have the opportunity to express their opinions at the ballot box rather than in the streets. The solution to Iraq's controversial government problems is reform to install a modified semi-presidential system with cabinet like the one in Finland, with a committee-style legislative framework similar to Switzerland’s. The prerequisite for lasting peace is global democratization. Iraq’s government should draft a basic constitution containing the above two features in a democratic paradigm shift adhering to the principle of One World under One Set of Laws. International law should be given priority over domestic law, with direct effect on the rights and duties of the people. Macedonia’s problems are deeply rooted in economics and politics, thus it is imperative to call for immediate constitutional reform. All citizens should have the right to participate in referendums on any public issues, and any time a motion to prohibit referendums on self-determination is raised, the subject of the very next referendum should be whether or not that particular motion should itself be outlawed. 1/4 of all lawmakers should face election each year. South Korea must cut out corruption, thus it should implement free access to the media for the use of citizens - individuals or groups – in election-related events. Autocracy has always been the enemy of human peace, and the prerequisite for permanent peace is global democratization. China serves as an enabler and agent for North Korea, and the best tack is to avoid antagonizing Pyongyang. The US, Japan and South Korea should back Taiwan's drive to save democracy, leading China to democratize and inspiring North Korea to do the same. Japan needs to revitalize its economy, which should include a serious search for sources of corruption. These include defects in the constitution and reform to reorganize the system of governance by implementing the election of the heads of the executive, legislative, judicial and procuratorial branches and having 1/4 of all lawmakers face election each year. Elected officials should serve a single term of 5 years and be banned from running again for 6 years afterwards, and elections should be free of charge for all candidates. Democracy and freedom are waves sweeping the world, and nuclear weapons, submarines, and missiles are helpless to stop them. Those who ‘go with the flow’ will prosper, while those who oppose it are doomed. China claims to be a "responsible major power” thus it should not continue to support North Korea's continued militarism.
