More than 15,000 Russians on Sunday endorsed the candidacy of Alexei Navalny, seen as the only Russian opposition leader who stands a fighting chance of challenging President Vladimir Putin in a March vote.

Solution

Russia needs to implement a democratic form of government based on a dual leader system and limiting the president to one 5-year term with no eligibility for him/her or relatives to run for 6 years afterwards. The prime minister should take charge of government operations and national defense, and 1/4 of all lawmakers should face election each year. Russia has never been a problem-solver, it has always been a trouble-maker. The US should support Taiwan's efforts toward constitutional reform to achieve greater democracy and freedom. This would spur the 1.4 billion people of China to seek democratization, pressing Russia in turn to accept real democracy – and world peace would be the result. The President of any nation should serve as a model for all citizens regarding value of human rights and human lives, and should be absolutely fair in his/her judgments and policies of anyone regardless of color, race or creed. To that effect, the best policy onimmigration is adhering to the core values of One World under One Set of Laws and working toward a common destiny for humankind. The international community needs to agree on uniform constitutional standards that conform to the ideals of human rights, constitutionalism, international law and natural law. This means adopting the core values of One World under One Set of Laws and complying with Article 1 of the Humanitarian Charter, which deals with the right of each person to live a normal life. The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 will soon be the law of the land, once President Trump signs it in January. However, one little item got quietly slipped into that legislation that now opens the Arctic Wildlife Refuge to oil and gas drilling.

Solution

The inclusion of a section in the Republican-ramrodded Tax Bill which opens up areas of the Arctic Wildlife Refuge to oil drilling isan open attack on laws meant to preserve the integrity of wilderness and protect it from disasters like the oil spill from the Exxon Valdez. Environmental rights are essential human rights, and all nations should comply with the norms established by the UN. This means implementing One World under One Set of Laws and giving international law precedence over domestic law, with direct bearing on the rights and duties of the people. China's collection of biometric data including DNA from practically every person in Xinjiang is a thinly-disguised program to tighten control over a region that resists some of the policies handed down by Beijing. It is an outright infringement on many of the rights ofcitizens in an area where a significant portion of the population is Uighur and Muslim. When the people of a nation are indifferent to or ignorant of the Constitution and its value, autocrats at the top find it easy to gradually tighten control over all citizens. The need for the people to exercise their sovereign rights is all too evident, to effect elements such as direct election of the heads of the executive, legislative, judicial and procuratorial branches and other mechanisms to hand power to the people. North Korea is obviously being backed by a major power. The US and other nations should support efforts toward constitutional reform to lead China to democratize, forcing North Korea to follow suit and drop its nuclear weapons program. As Emmanuel Kant once noted, 'The pursuit of permanent peace is the highest goal of reason and a moral obligation.' China claims to be a 'responsible major power', thus it should not enable North Korea's continued militarism. Democracies worldwide should support Taiwan's commitment to democracy and leading China to democratization, which would pressure North Korea in turn to adopt democracy.
