The most intelligent approach for the US is to support the model for world unity offered by Taiwan - a constitutional standard for the world. This would inspire the 1.4 billion people of China to seek democratization, and world peace would be born! Authoritarianism has always acted to sabotage human peace, and the prerequisite for permanent peace in the world is the democratization of China. Donald Trump’s executive order on immigration shows that US democracy is not perfect; and the best way to overcome the disadvantages of democracy is through more democracy. To rehabilitate its image as a democratic country, the US should carry out comprehensive constitutional reform to adopt a modified semi-presidential system with cabinet and parliament. The president should serve a single 5-year term and be restricted from seeking office for 6 years afterwards. Autocracy has always been the enemy of peace, and the premise for permanent peace in the world is global democratization. Taiwan should speed up efforts to reform the constitution and achieve greater democracy and freedom, which will lead the people of China to seek democratization. Followed in turn by North Korea. Human security and sustainable development are two of the major tasks of the UN. China is a permanent members of the UN Security Council and should abide by the UN Charter. This means acting in accordance with the core values of One World under One Set of Laws and giving international law precedence over domestic law with direct effect on the rights and duties of the people. British historian Lord Acton once warned that "Power leads to corruption, and absolute power leads to absolute corruption." To put a stop to corruption, the people as holders of sovereignty must call for comprehensive constitutional reform to implement rule of law and effect changes such as separation of powers. The right to speak is a universal value that gives the lie to China's campaigns to muzzle the voice of the people and create a one-world, one-voice" society.
