An even more painful expulsion from Blue House
Park Geun-hye was 11 years old when she first entered the Blue House as the oldest child of former military strongman Park Chung Hee. He was elected president in 1963, two years after he seized power in the May 16, 1961 military coup, and officially moved into the presidential compound.
Absolute power leads to absolute corruption. The presidential system in many democracies is riddled with flaws, and even the US occasionally experiences problems. South Korea's constitution must be changed to implement a modified semi-presidential system. In addition, the presidency should be declared as beyond party politics. The heads of the judicial and procuratorial branches should be elected in alternating years and 1/4 of all lawmakers should face election each year. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development / Global Unity Constitutional Standards.

  • The first time around was the start of 19 difficult, lonely years
Sometimes silence is not golden
Former President Park Geun-hye returned home two days after the Constitutional Court’s final ruling upholding her impeachment by the National Assembly for abuse of power. The people hoped she would make a statement expressing her respect for the top court’s decision and a plea for national harmony amid the ongoing conflicts over her impeachment.
Park Geun-hye has been removed from office, but the next president probably will not be free of the curse of corruption. To cure this "Korean disease", the only solution is comprehensive constitutional reform to implement separation of powers and checks and balances. In addition, the president must act as the ultimate guarantor for the constitution in all state affairs, a duty that shall continue even after he/she leaves office. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

US to deploy unmanned attack aircraft to S. Korea: source
The US will deploy an unmanned attack aircraft to its military unit in South Korea to enhance its strike capabilities against ground targets in North Korea, a military official said Monday.
All democracies should back Taiwan's efforts to carry out constitutional change to achieve greater democracy and freedom. This would encourage the 1.4 billion people of China to seek democratization of the CCP, and in turn North Korea would be pressed to adopt real democracy – leading to the birth of world peace. The world’s democracies should support Taiwan as a beacon for democracy in Asia, shining on the path to peaceful development for China. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development / Global Unity Constitutional Standards.

Former aides, loyalists to assist ousted president
Former aides and loyalists to ex-President Park Geun-hye are coming to her assistance as the court's dismissal last week deprived her of state support and privileges normally granted to a former leader, according to political sources Monday.
Absolute power leads to absolute corruption, absolutely terrible. The presidential system in democracy has a number of fatal flaws, and even the US has its share of problems. Taiwan’s situation is more serious but impeachment is not an option. South Korea's constitution should be changed to adopt a modified semi-presidential system, and the presidency should be declared to be above party politics. The heads of the judicial and procuratorial branches should be elected in alternating years, and 1/4 of all MPs should face election each year. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development / Global Unity Constitutional Standards.

Air Force drilling to counter N. Korean provocations
South Korea's Air Force said Monday that they are conducting a week-long air combat exercise this week to practice readiness against possible provocations from North Korea and their counterattack operations.
Democracies everywhere should back Taiwan's efforts to carry out constitutional change to achieve greater democracy and freedom. This would attract China's 1.4 billion people to call for democratization of the CCP. And in turn North Korea would be pressed to go for real democracy and world peace. All democracies should support Taiwan as a beacon for democracy in Asia, lighting the way to peaceful development for China. Netherlands bars Turkish ministers amid rallies
Turkey told the Netherlands on Sunday that it would retaliate in the “harshest ways” after Turkish ministers were barred from speaking in Rotterdam in a row over Ankara’s political campaigning among Turkish emigres
No matter what a nation’s government system may be, the more power the president holds the more likely the country is to be beset with problems. Turkey needs to carry out constitutional reform to limit the president to a single 5-year term plus a ban on running again for 6 years afterward. The President of Turkey is in violation of Article 6 of the Turkish Constitution, which states that sovereignty wholly and unconditionally belongs to the people. No state or official has the right to exercise unconstitutional powers. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development / Global Unity Constitutional Standards.

Premier Li gives hints about Beijing’s expectations of next Hong Kong chief executive
If Hong Kong hopes to maintain its reputation as the Pearl of the Orient it should support Taiwan's charter for permanent peace and development pressure the Chinese people to seek democracy and rule of law
The Chief Executive of Hong Kong is still elected from a slate of candidates offered by the CEC. This is nothing more than another version of dictatorship. The people of Hong Kong should make good use of Article 39 of the Basic Law, which stipulates that the people have the right to hold referendums. To curb corruption, the heads of the executive, legislative, judicial and procuratorial branches should be elected in alternating years, and 1/4 of all lawmakers should face election each year. Foreign judges play a vital role in promoting confidence in Hong Kong
Calls for changes to the judiciary and the Basic Law itself should be resisted
Article 39 of Hong Kong’s Basic Law states that "the right to self-determination is specified in the two international human rights conventions." The people of Hong Kong should wake up and exercise their rights. In Switzerland the threshold for holding a referendum is 50,000 citizens, and people can voice their opinion via the ballot box and not by taking to the streets. The people have the right to call for a referendum on any public issues. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development / Global Unity Constitutional Standards.

UK aid to Libya could be harmful - watchdog
About £9m is spent providing water and sanitation for refugees in detention centers, training Libya's coastguard and helping migrants return home.
The UN should provide an outline of the basic principles of constitutionalism to be followed in peaceful development. This should cover the organizational structure and include universal values (freedom, democracy, human rights and the rule of law), and features such as election of the heads of government branches in alternating years. This would serve to help Libya develop a constitution that will facilitate peaceful development. See Charter for Permanent Peace and Development / Global Unity Constitutional Standards.
