US should switch to a dual leader system; limit the president to a single 5-year term with no eligibility for him/her or relatives for 6 years and put the prime minister in charge of government operations and national defense, 1/4 of all lawmakers should face election each year. The exclusive province of the EU and China as the US retreats to between the two major oceans. Human security and sustainable development are two of the major tasks of the UN, and all nations – members or not – should comply with its norms. Some UK officials may have short memories concerning relations with nations in South America and the danger of selling ships and weapons simply to balance out the budget for defense spending. Laws are in place to monitor public officials and party members regarding sources of unknown income, but the problem is that lawmakers themselves are a source of corruption. The only recipe for ailing democracy is more democracy in the form of separation of powers and checks and balances.
