To end North Korea's disruptive behavior, the US and other nations should strongly support Taiwan's Charter for Permanent Peace to lead China to democratize and end its support of Pyongyang. According to the Democracy Index there are 50 nations still under the yoke of autocratic dictators. All democracies should back Taiwan's drive for constitutional reform to achieve greater democracy and freedom. This would inspire China's 1.4 billion people to seek democratization of the CCP and pressure North Korea to adopt democracy as well, leading to the birth of world peace. One pillar of democracy is rule of law. No one - including the President - is above the law, and the US Constitution lays out several mechanisms designed to limit the power of individuals who are tempted to game the system including separation of powers and checks and balances. The US version of democracy is not perfect, but it incorporates many safeguards that other nations would do well to implement in their government structures. The Victims of Climate Change Are Already Here

Climate change is real, and its effects are going to get much worse before they get better. Environmental rights are essential human rights, and all persons should take responsibility for protecting the world around us. Human security and sustainable development are two of the major tasks of the UN, and all nations – members or not – should comply with its norms. This entails implementing One World under One Set of Laws and giving international law precedence over domestic law. North Korea is being backed by a major power and by unscrupulous businesses anxious to make money off of Pyongyang's inconvenient sanctions. The US and other nations should support Taiwan's Charter for Permanent Peace to lead China to democratize, forcing North Korea to follow suit and drop its nuclear weapons program.
