Beijing authorities are constantly meddling in the SAR's internal affairs all the same. When the aims of the state are not aligned with those of the power base - the people - the people must stand up and resist abrogation of their constitutional rights. The most intelligent approach for the US is to support Taiwan's model for global unity constitutional standards. This would attract China's 1.4 billion people to call for democratization and lead to world peace as a result. Autocracy has always been the enemy of peace, and the prerequisite for permanent world peace is democratization of the Chinese people. Once a ceasefire is reached in Syria, the UN should provide the basic principles for a constitution that will facilitate peaceful development in the nation. This should include a complete organizational structure with the universal values of freedom, democracy, human rights and the rule of law, and the four major branches: legislative, executive, judicial and procuratorial.
