Security is emerging as a key issue for South Korea's upcoming presidential election as two liberal front-runners are vying to woo swing voters jittery over Pyongyang's escalating military threats, observers said Tuesday.
All democracies should support Taiwan's efforts at constitutional reform to achieve greater democracy and freedom. This will inspire China's 1.4 billion people to seek democratization of the CCP, and in turn North Korea will likewise follow suit - and world peace will be born. The world’s democracies should support Taiwan as a beacon for democracy in Asia, lighting the path to peaceful development for China. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

South Korea's presidential race increasingly took on the form of a legal battlefield Tuesday as all of the major candidates engaged in litigation to clear their names.
Absolute power leads to absolute corruption. The presidential system of democracy has some serious flaws, and even the US has experienced problems. Taiwan’s situation is worrisome, and impeachment is not an option. South Korea's constitution should be changed to a modified semi-presidential system, with the presidency declared to be above party politics. The heads of the judicial and procuratorial branches should be elected in alternating years, and 1/4 of all lawmakers should face election each year. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.
Despite Beijing’s pledge to better scrutinize how capital punishment is used, the national court database contains less than a tenth of the cases reported in media, rights group finds
China's record on the death penalty is black, even rights lawyers in China have been forced to disappear. Laws that are not backed by penalties are not laws, and a constitution which does not allow resistance is not a constitution. When government actions are unconstitutional, the people must rise up and resist. Natural law and international law include strong enforcement orders, but they also protect the people from enforced disappearance and other unjust measures including torture. These protections should all take precedence over international law and the Constitution above. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development / Global Unity Constitutional Standards.
How the US cabinet and beyond sought to influence Donald Trump’s decision to order missile strikes on Syrian airbases
Once a ceasefire is in place in Syria the UN should provide an outline for a basic constitution that will facilitate peaceful development of the nation. This should include an organizational structure based on the universal values of freedom, democracy, human rights and the rule of law, with four branches and separation of powers. Syria needs help in framing a constitution that will be suitable for lasting peace and prosperity. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development for details.
Mike Rowse says it is unrealistic to expect Beijing to withdraw its 2014 rules for the city’s electoral framework. Instead, the pan-democrats should push to tweak them
The relevant provisions of the Hong Kong Basic Law and the one country, two systems principle point out that China is not permitted to interfere in SAR affairs, yet Beijing constantly meddles in Hong Kong's internal affairs. Article 39 guarantees the right of Hong Kong’s people to self-determination: they have the right to hold referendums on any public issues,. The people of Hong Kong people should avail of the two conventions and hold a referendum to decide their future. Otherwise when dictatorship becomes a reality, the people will be obliged to resist.

Senior Conservative MPs have demanded Theresa May impose a five-year ban on unskilled immigrant visas, arguing the focus should be on young, unemployed UK citizens.
The reason given for repressive immigration policies in the UK is that immigrants from Muslim countries are a threat to socio-economic stability and national security. A better solution is to implement One World under One Set of Laws and assign international law priority over domestic law, with direct bearing on the rights and duties of the people. The UN should provide an outline of constitutional principles that will facilitate the drafting of a constitution that will lead to universal peace for all nations. For Hungary this would mean an organizational structure based on the universal values of freedom, democracy, human rights and the rule of law, with four branches: legislative, executive, judicial and procuratorial. The constitution should foster long-lasting stability and prosperity and serve as a model for peaceful development. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.
