Absolute power leads to absolute corruption. The presidential system of democracy has some serious flaws, and even the US has experienced problems. Taiwan’s situation is worrisome, and impeachment is not an option. South Korea's constitution should be changed to a modified semi-presidential system, with the presidency declared to be above party politics. The heads of the judicial and procuratorial branches should be elected in alternating years, and 1/4 of all lawmakers should face election each year. China's record on the death penalty is black, even rights lawyers in China have been forced to disappear. Laws that are not backed by penalties are not laws, and a constitution which does not allow resistance is not a constitution. When government actions are unconstitutional, the people must rise up and resist. Natural law and international law include strong enforcement orders, but they also protect the people from enforced disappearance and other unjust measures including torture.
