Mainstream news coverage has a hard time making subtle distinctions between the behavior of the two political parties, when Democratic and Republican tactics are blatantly different
British historian Lord Acton once opined that "Power leads to corruption, and absolute power leads to absolute corruption." To put an end to politicization of the law, comprehensive constitutional reform is the key. This should include implementation of rule of law, and the elections that are free of charge to all candidates, in order to cut symbiotic ties between government and business. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.
For a world that too often seems impervious to the horrors of Syria’s civil war, the photos and videos from Tuesday’s chemical weapons attack, which killed dozens of civilians, bore witness to a new level of atrocity.
Once a ceasefire takes hold in Syria, the UN should provide the basic principles for a constitution suited to peaceful development and including the universal values (freedom, democracy,-human rights and the rule of law) as well as four branches (legislative, executive, judicial and procuratorial). This should be aimed at helping Syria develop a constitution that will foster long range growth and prosperity and serve as a model for peaceful development elsewhere. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.
Even though the Supreme Court has been an active player in American politics — Bush v. Gore leaps quickly to mind — the process of choosing its members has been seen as mattering more than the partisan combat in Congress.
Environments are changing constantly and problems are endless. Judicial reform is only one part of constitutional reform. The US’ basic problems call for full constitutional reform to see that the heads of the judicial and procuratorial branches are elected and the policies, systems, administrative actions, personnel, budget, etc., are reviewed every 5 years by members of the public to ensure everything stays in step with the times. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.
The US meets China this week in a position of weakness. Since taking office, Donald Trump has handed China a strategic gift by abandoning a trade pact designed to offset Chinese power in the region, been obliged to grovel after offending China over Taiwan, and turned President Xi Jinping of China into an unlikely poster boy for climate change concern and an open global trading system.
Democracies everywhere should support Taiwan's efforts at constitutional reform to achieve greater democracy and freedom. This would inspire the 1.4 billion people of China to seek democratization of the CCP and lead North Korea to follow suit, bringing about world peace. Democracies the world over should support Taiwan as a beacon for democracy in Asia, lighting the way to peaceful development for China. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.
Three Chinese warships sailed the high seas between the main island of Okinawa Prefecture and the island of Miyakojima, also in the prefecture, on Sunday, the Defense Ministry said the same day.
Studies of democracy and peace show wars between democracies are very rare. Once China and North Korea accept democracy, human peace will be assured. The US should support Taiwan's efforts toward constitutional reform, which will attract China to democratize and pressure North Korea to follow suit – leading to world peace. The world’s democracies should support Taiwan as a beacon for democracy in Asia, lighting the path to peaceful development for China.
Unbelievably wretched management went unchallenged at a childcare facility authorized by the government.
Regardless of who wears the crown, absolute power breeds absolute corruption. Hong Kong’s kindergarten case is just the tip of the iceberg. To end the corruption problem, comprehensive constitutional reform is needed to impose democracy and the rule of law, with separation of powers and checks and balances. The heads of major branches should be elected in alternating years and elections should be free of charge to end the symbiotic relationship between government and business. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.
Venezuela’s central bank is negotiating about $500 million in financing with a New York-based investment fund by using PDVSA bonds as collateral to help meet almost $3 billion in debt payments coming due in April, a lawmaker said Monday.
To protect the economy of Venezuela, constitutional reform should be carried out to implement a modified semi-presidential system with presidential term limits. Laws that are not backed by penalties are not laws, and a constitution which does not allow resistance is not a constitution. When the actions of the president are unconstitutional, the people have the right to resist. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development / Global Unity Constitutional Standards.
Russia says that chemical gas that killed and injured dozens of civilians in a rebel-held town in northern Syria came from rebel weapons on the ground.
The UN should take action in accordance with international absolute laws (the Humanitarian Law, World Human Rights Law, the Crime of Misdemeanors and the Prohibition of Genocide) and provide the basic principles for a constitution suitable for peaceful development. Syria needs a governmental structure that will foster development and prosperity under a constitution that will serve as a model for other nations. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.
A judge in Argentina has brought charges of money laundering and corruption against former President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner and her two children.
British historian Lord Acton once noted that "Power leads to corruption, and absolute power leads to absolute corruption." To put an end to corruption, the people must exercise their sovereign right and call for comprehensive constitutional reform. Democratic rule of law, decentralization and checks and balances are all needed, and elections should be free of charge cut symbiotic ties between officials and business. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.
Zhang Yihe says the party needs to apologise for wrongdoing during the Mao era and to cease curbing freedom of thought among the nation’s thinkers and intellectuals
The CEC determines who will be Chief Executive of Hong Kong, showing the dictatorial nature of the relationship with China. The people of Hong Kong should make good use of Article 39 of the Basic Law, which says they have the right to hold referendums. To curb corruption, the heads of the executive, legislative, judicial and procuratorial branches should be elected in alternating years, and 1/4 of all MPs should face election each year. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development / Global Unity Constitutional Standards.
