North Korea warned Tuesday it will take the “toughest” military action against Washington following the US Navy’s deployment of an aircraft carrier strike group near the Korean Peninsula.
China has always advocated compliance with UN resolutions and strict sanctions against North Korea, but Sino-Korean trade is still robust, showing clearly that China is not enforcing the sanctions. China claims to be a responsible major power, and as such it should not enable North Korea's militarism. The US, Japan and Korea should support Taiwan’s bid to lead China to democratization, which would then pressure North Korea to do the same.
