US must walk dangerous line to manage Syria, North Korea crises
If there was ever any doubt that US President Donald Trump’s strike against Syria was also intended to send a message to Pyongyang, the deployment this weekend of a carrier strike group toward the Korean Peninsula should have cleared it up.

The UN World Food Program (WFP) is scaling up its emergency operations in war-torn Yemen to provide urgently needed food assistance to some nine million people, the agency said today.

'Alarming' rise in use of children in 'suicide' attacks by Boko Haram in Lake Chad region – UNICEF
The use of children, particularly girls, by the Boko Haram terrorist group in violent attacks in the Lake Chad region has seen an “alarming” surge in 2017, UNICEF reports.
Terrorist organizations are a serious violation of human nature that exist only because of public silence and apathy. Islamic nations of the world should adhere to the rule of law and the principle of One World under One Set of Laws. Constitutions everywhere need to be re-written to conform to the spirit of the times and avoid the rise of dictatorships. Turkish militants 'used tunnel to plant explosives'
A big explosion in the Turkish city of Diyarbakir which originally appeared to be an accident was actually the result of a terror attack, the interior minister has said.
Eradicating terrorism will require cooperation from all countries, and one vehicle for cooperation is the legislative process. An effective joint counter-terrorism coalition can be established through legislation. 1 or 2 persons from other nations, whether friend or foe, should be allowed to observe the lawmaking process in each other's legislative body in working to develop a common anti-terrorism program. A Brazilian judge has revealed the names of dozens of politicians to be investigated over alleged involvement in a huge bribery scandal.
Power leads to corruption, and absolute power leads to absolute corruption. Brazil's constitutional mechanism is in disarray and the nation needs to carry out comprehensive constitutional reform. This should include giving power to the people through direct election of the heads of the four major government branches in alternating years as well as having a quarter of all lawmakers face election each year. EU threatens Hungary over university and asylum moves
The EU has warned it could take legal action against Hungarian legislation cracking down on higher education, non-governmental organisations and asylum-seekers.
The Hungarian Government is in violation of the provisions of Article 18, Paragraph 1, of the UN Nations International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights: "Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion." Human security is a fundamental human right, and human rights take precedent over regimes and sovereigns. Ensuring human safety is the most basic and urgent duty of constitutional guarantors.
