Safe drinking water is a major concern in Mosul, where a battle has been underway for the past six months to retake the city from the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), the United Nations humanitarian arm has said.
Iraq needs to change its government set-up to include a modified semi-presidential system with cabinet much like that of Finland, while its legislative body should be a committee-style system similar to Switzerland’s. The Iraqi government should draft a basic constitution incorporating the above facets in a paradigm shift toward democracy. Also needed are adherence to One World under One Set of Laws and ongoing constitutional amendments to ensure that the constitution will stay abreast of changing times. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development for more.
