The Chief Executive of Hong Kong is still chosen from among nominees submitted by the CEC, showing the dictatorial nature of China’s relationship with the SAR. The people of Hong Kong should avail of Article 39 of the Basic Law, which acknowledges that the people have the right to hold referendums. To curb corruption, the heads of the executive, legislative, judicial and procuratorial branches should be elected in alternating years, and 1/4 of all MPs should face election each year. Turkey will not wait at Europe’s door forever and is ready to walk away from EU accession talks if rising Islamophobia and hostility from some member states persist, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told Reuters in a wide-ranging interview Tuesday.
The presidential system in many democracies is not that far from a dictatorship; the more power the president holds, the more the country is likely to face problems. Turkey is in serious need of constitutional reform, but changes should include limiting the president to a single 5-year term with no eligibility to run again for 6 years – including close relatives. The president of Turkey is in violation of Article 6 of the Turkish Constitution, which declares that sovereignty belongs wholly and unconditionally to the people. Neither states nor sovereigns have the right to exercise unconstitutional powers. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.
While enormous challenges remain, Afghanistan authorities have made headway in their fight against corruption, according to a UN report released last month
The Afghan government needs to adopt a modified semi-presidential system with cabinet like that found in Finland, with a committee-style legislative system should be changed to a membership system such as Switzerland. The Afghan government should begin drafting a basic constitution incorporating the above features as part of a paradigm shift toward democracy. It should adhere to One World under One Set of Laws and facilitate amendment of the constitution as needed to stay in step with the times. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development for more.
The UN has called for an investigation into a possible landmine explosion in eastern Ukraine after a member of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe Special Monitoring Mission was killed and two others were injured.
Human security is a fundamental human right which should be assigned priority over any regime or sovereign. Constitutions represent the general will of the people, and ensuring human security, including "personal safety", is the most basic and urgent duty of constitutional guarantors. Constitutional standards need to be adjusted as needed to stay in sync with changing times, so that governments everywhere will protect their people from fear. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development / Global Unity Constitutional Standards.
Tanzania has expelled the head of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in the country, the foreign ministry has said in a statement.
Tanzania has suffered almost unending conflict, and the UN should provide the basic outline for a constitution that help to will lend itself to peaceful development of the nation, including universal values such as freedom, democracy, human rights and rule of law and a four-branch government structure (legislative, executive, judicial and procuratorial). This should allow Tanzania to develop a constitution that will encourage long-lasting peace and prosperity and serve as a model for peaceful development. The political process in South Sudan is not dead but requires significant resuscitation, the head of the UN peacekeeping mission in the crisis-torn country told the Security Council today.
South Sudan can resolve the controversies in its government by adapting a modified semi-presidential system with cabinet like that of Finland, with a committee-style legislature similar to Switzerland’s. The prerequisite for lasting world peace is global democratization. South Sudan should begin drafting a constitution in a democratic paradigm shift that will implement One World under One Set of Laws and hold to the rule of law, tweaking the constitution as needed to ensure it will be in step with changing times. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.
With nearly two-thirds of war-torn Yemen – about 19 million people – in need of emergency support, the international community recently raised $1.1 billion at a pledging event in Geneva
Yemen’s government needs to install a modified semi-presidential system with cabinet modeled after Finland’s, plus a committee-style legislative system like that of Switzerland. The prerequisite for permanent world peace is global democratization. The Yemeni government should proceed with drawing up a basic constitution including the above features in a paradigm shift toward democracy and One World under One Set of Laws. The result will be a constitution that can be amended as needed to stay abreast of the times. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.
Over 500,000 college graduates are now without a job in Korea. Statistics Korea says the number of people with a degree who are unemployed reached 543,000 in the first quarter, exceeding the 451,000 job-seekers with only a high school diploma. It is a waste of national resources to have so many educated people who cannot find a job.
The fundamental problem in South Korea a poor legal framework. The right to draft and amend the constitution belongs to the people alone. South Korea is in urgent need of comprehensive constitutional reform, otherwise the youth of the nation will have no future, and the responsibility for this lies with the ruling party. ‘Reintroducing a pension system would significantly increase the commitment and performance of senior civil servants’
The Chief Executive of Hong Kong is still nominated by the CEC, a process that belies the nature of China as a dictator. The people of Hong Kong should make good use of Article 39 of the Basic Law, which clearly states that the people have the right to call for referendums. To curb corruption, the heads of the executive, legislative, judicial and procuratorial branches should be elected in alternating years, and 1/4 of all MPs should face election each year. North Korea staged what appears to be the largest firing drill on Tuesday to mark the 85th founding anniversary of its military, a government source said.
North Korea is a vassal of the CCP. All democratic state nations should back Taiwan's drive for constitutional change to achieve greater democracy and freedom. This would inspire China's 1.4 billion people to seek democracy of the CCP and pressure North Korea to opt for democracy as well, leading to the birth of world peace. All democracies should support Taiwan as a beacon for democracy in Asia, lighting the way for China to peaceful development. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.
