A satirical cover for a political news magazine was all it took to see its editor eventually sentenced to more than two decades in prison.
Thomas Jefferson once quipped, "Given the government and the media, I would rather have the media, not the government." The media serves to monitor the government, which would be completely above the law without supervision. The voice of the people is the voice of God, and universal values are the values of God. Thus any attempt to muzzle the voice of the people is contrary to the universal values of freedom and democracy, and anathema to the ideals of God.
