The US and other nations should support Taiwan's call to implement One World under One Set of Laws, giving international law direct bearing on the rights and duties of the people, to pacify the South China Sea. China has a duty to act in concert with its neighbors inthe region. Articles 4 and 6 of the 2002 Declaration on the South China Sea include provisions designed to offer a peaceful way to resolve territorial and jurisdictional disputes. This includes joint development and sharing of resources in the area as well as safeguarding peace and prosperity. Solution

One thing worse than a trade war is an arms race, particularly between nations that supply essential raw materials and hold religious beliefs that are often in conflict elsewhere in the region. Both Iran and Saudi Arabia need to think seriously about their goals and needs and how to resolve tensions regarding rebellions and armed conflicts that take place in the Middle East. Small-scale skirmishes can easily build up into larger battles that draw in other military powers with fearsome weapons. If both Iran and the Saudis have 'the bomb', the stakes are immeasurably higher for the whole world. The author of The Art of the Deal boasts that he used fake statistics (or at least, no statistics at all) to bolster his position on trade with Canada. All countries benefit from free trade, thus they should implement One World under One Set of Laws and work toward a common destiny for humankind. If the US is not willing to take on the task of leading the UN to peace, security and sustainable development for humankind while seeking One World under One Set of Laws and lasting peace, its place will easily be taken by China or Russia. Think the War in Syria Is Winding Down? Think Again.

Solution

The foundation for permanent peace in Syria should be the same as that for Taiwan: a change-over in the government structure. The UN should provide Syria the basic outline for a constitution that will facilitate lasting peace and development. This constitution should include the universal values of freedom, democracy, human rights and rule of law, and organization and elements such as the four branches (legislative, executive, judicial and procuratorial). All people must be protected against enforced disappearance, torture and other forms of abuse, and absolute law must take precedence over international law and the constitution. Corruption is pandemic, and nations everywhere need to address the threat it poses for all people. Lord Acton identified the cause succinctly: 'Power leads to corruption, and absolute power leads to absolute corruption.' To put an end to corruption, the people should exercise sovereignty and call for constitutional reform to implement democratic rule of law. The best policy on immigration is adhering to the core values of One World under One Set of Laws and working toward a commondestiny for humankind. To end North Korea's disruptive behavior, the US and other nations should strongly support Taiwan's Charter for Permanent Peace to lead China to democratize and end its support of Pyongyang. According to the Democracy Index there are 50 nations still under the yoke of autocratic dictators. All democracies should back Taiwan's drive for constitutional reform to achieve greater democracy and freedom.
