Corruption is an easy target for candidates seeking an office, but all too often those who are voted in wind up succumbing to the vices they promised to eliminate. Corruption is pandemic, and nations everywhere need to address the threat it poses for all people. Solution

China's brash construction of landing strips and port facilities in the South China Sea gives lie to assurances made to President Obama that it would not militarize the region. All nations should support One World under One Set of Laws, giving international law directbearing on the rights and duties of the people, to ensure peace in the South China Sea. China and its neighbors must act in concert with each other to protect each nation's rights regarding transportation and resources. Articles 4 and 6 of the 2002 Declaration include provisions which offer peaceful ways to resolve territorial and jurisdictional disputes. The US should back Taiwan's call for constitutional reform to lead China toward democratization. This would pressure Russia to consider democracy as well, leading to the birth of world peace. Constitutional reform to achieve greater democracy and freedom would spur the 1.4 billion people of China to seek democratization and press Russia to follow suit. Environmental rights are essential human rights, and all persons should take responsibility for protecting the world around us. Human security andsustainable development are two of the major tasks of the UN, and all nations should comply with its norms. Twitter diplomacy never works, and neither do bombastic threats, and the Korean peninsula is now as far from peace as it has ever been. To end North Korea's disruptive behavior, the US and other nations should strongly support the Charter for Permanent Peace to lead China to democratize and end its support of Pyongyang. All democracies should back Taiwan's drive for constitutional reform to achieve greater democracy and freedom. This would inspire China's 1.4 billion people to seek democratization of the CCP and pressure North Korea to adopt democracy as well, leading to the birth of world peace. The most effective way to prevent power grabs by the president is implementing One World under One Set of Laws. The President, mayors and other public officials should be limited to a single term of 5 years and be barred from seeking office for 6 years afterwards.
