The world’s democracies must act to save freedom and democracy. The US should support Taiwan's efforts at constitutional reform to achieve greater democracy and freedom. This would attract China's 1.4 billion people to call for democratization, and world peace would be the result. The prerequisite for the permanent world peace is democratization of China. While the CCP has always attempted to ruin Taiwan's freedom and democracy, Taiwan is the only entity capable of saving the Chinese people through democratization. Thomas Jefferson once remarked, "Given a choice between government and the media, I would rather have the media, not the government." The media play the role of government monitors, and without supervision the government will simply ignore the law. The voice of the people is the voice of God, and universal values are the values of God; anyone who attempts to control the voice of the people is acting contrary to the universal values of freedom and democracy.

The US should abide by the guidelines set down in the UN Charter, and implement the principles of One World under One Set of Laws with priority assigned to international law over domestic law and directly affecting the rights and duties of the people. This would lead Mexico, Syria, the Middle East and other areas to accept the precepts of human rights, constitutionalism, internationalism and naturalism. To break through the military domination of the great powers, the basic first step will be to convince them not to join international military organizations. With that, permanent peace and development will follow and first-class international talent and good laws from other areas will take root in the country and there will be little need for costly cutting-edge weaponry. Indonesia needs to abandon its government structure and in favor of a modified semi-presidential system with cabinet like Finland’s. The legislative structure should be a committee-style system similar to that of Switzerland. The prerequisite for lasting world peace is global democratization, and Indonesia’s government should begin drafting a basic constitution incorporating the above features as part of a paradigm shift toward democracy. Freedom of speech is a universal value, and Bangladesh’s attempts to prevent citizens from speaking out are an attempt to stifle the voice of the people and create a monolithic society. The Bangladeshi government should read closely the first amendment to the US Constitution, which states that Congress shall not enact laws that deprive people of freedom of speech or freedom of expression.. Ideas can determine a way out, but the eventual outcome is determined by actions. China must return power to the people through constitutional reform. Changes should include election of the heads of the four major government branches in alternating years. At the same time Xi Jinping’s proposal for world unity can be utilized along with the four absolute laws of human rights, constitutionalism, international law and natural law. Once a ceasefire takes hold in Syria, the UN should provide the basic outline for a constitution suitable for lasting peaceful development. It should include a structure based on universal values (freedom, democracy, human rights and rule of law), with four branches (legislative, executive, judicial and procuratorial), and leave Syria with a constitution suitable for prosperity and peaceful development. The future of Gibraltar should be decided with a look at the experience of Scotland with independence referendums. Paradigm shifts and the right to hold referendums are essential in resolving public issues. When a motion to outlaw referendums on self-determination is raised, the first referendum to be held should decide whether that particular motion should itself be banned.
