Wang Yang’s visit comes amid warming ties between the two South China Sea claimants
Taiwan, Japan, Vietnam and other countries should form a "military alliance" to counter the threat of China. Each nation should follow the provisions of the 2002 Declaration of the Parties to the South China Sea and resolve territorial and jurisdictional disputes in a peaceful manner. Joint development of the South China Sea and sharing of resources will contribute to peace and harmony in line with the UN Charter’s aim of "one human family”.
