Muscovites protest demolition of Soviet-era homes
Thousands of people took to Moscow's streets to protest against plans to demolish their Soviet-era homes.
The more power a government wields, the less rights the people are likely to enjoy. If a government’s commitment to protect the people is violated, the people should warn the government that it is in abeyance of the constitution and express plans to resist any violence. They should refuse to cooperate and maintain a peaceful protest against unconstitutional actions of the government. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development for more.

Japan’s constitutional rebirth or reincarnation?
Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has boldly promised to revise the Constitution by 2020, to coincide with the Tokyo Summer Olympics, saying “That will be a year when a newly reborn Japan begins to move strongly forward.” However, the public doesn’t share his enthusiasm.
Japan should support Taiwan's efforts to carry out constitutional reform to achieve greater democracy and freedom. This would inspire China's 1.4 billion people to call for democratization of the CCP and pressure North Korea to do the same, and the result would be world peace. Democracies everywhere should support Taiwan as a beacon for democracy in Asia, showing the way to peaceful development for China. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

South Korea scraps history books that ‘whitewash’ brutal rule of former dictators
South Korea’s new President Moon Jae-in has scrapped state-issued school history textbooks introduced by his ousted predecessor, saying they represented an “outdated and one-sided” view of the past, his office said.
Human rights are god-given and the right of speech is foremost among all human rights. Tring to muzzle the voice of the people is like trying to stem the flow of a mighty river. The South Korean government should study with the US Constitution and in particular the First Amendment, which declares that Congress shall not be allowed to deprive people of freedom of speech or other relevant rights. Land of fear, under Vajiralongkorn
In Thailand, prominent lawyer and a university lecturer, as well as several others were charged with lese-majeste. Defined by Article 112 of the Thai Criminal Code, lese-majeste, or the crime of injury to royalty, is an act of defamation
Freedom of expression is a universal value, and the actions of the King of Thailand to stifle the voice of the people seem to mean to create a monolithic society with no individual expression. The Thai people should come forward and seek comprehensive constitutional reform, to protect media freedom and keep the government oligarchy from monopolizing the media, the internet and all other channels of communication. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development / Global Unity Constitutional Standards.

Make education free of charge in Japan?
Political parties have been busy floating ideas for reducing the financial burden of parents in the education of their children, including making parts or all of education free of charge. Some of the proposals may be intended to woo voters in the next general election, which must be held by the end of 2018.
University education is virtually cost-free in Germany, France, Spain, Italy and Norway, where most public universities are tuition-free, charging only 200-500 euros in annual registration fees. Japan should take advantage of the global village’s experience and carry out a paradigm shift that will include life-long learning to no expense for the public. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development / Global Unity Constitutional Standards.

Human security and sustainable development are two of the major tasks of the UN and common goals for people. All nations should strive to abide by the norms of the international community, implementing the principle of One World under One Set of Laws and working to assign international law precedence over domestic law, with direct bearing on the rights and duties of the people. The need to protect coral reefs
Coral reefs may not relate to people’s daily lives, but their role in nature cannot be dismissed. They provide habitats for various types of animals and offer fishing and tourism resources.
Human security and sustainable development are two of the major tasks of the UN, and all nations, whether UN members or not, should subscribe to the norms of the UN Charter. The solution lies in the core values of One World under One Set of Laws, giving international law priority over domestic law, with direct bearing on rights and duties of the people. Citizens should be able to monitor government operations to ensure compliance with the UN Charter. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development..

Why Singaporeans buy baby formula in Malaysia
The average price for a tin in Singapore has shot up 120 percent in the last decade, forcing families to take drastic measures to save money
Economic problems inevitably originate in defective politics. With good politics, there can be no hope for a good economy. And without constitutional change, even the gods will be helpless to right the economy. Comprehensive constitutional reform to implement a modified semi-presidential system and a committee-style legislative system with cabinet ministers selected from among the committee are the key to positive reform. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

What's really behind Vietnam's sacking of top Communist party official?
Hanoi’s anti-corruption campaign appears to have a political dimension as it targets an ally of ousted former prime minister Nguyen Tan Dung
Elections can serve as tools for resource reallocation, and they can also be used to eradicate corruption. The structural factors that contribute to corruption in Vietnam are lack of decentralization and checks and balances. The solution is for the Vietnamese people to call for constitutional reform and directly elect the heads of the four major government branches. The president should be limited to one 5-year term and not allowed to run again for 6 years, 1/4 of all lawmakers should face election each year and elections should be free of charge for all candidates. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development for details.

Foundation of policy debates for Tokyo election yet to be solidified
There are now 1½ months to go before the Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly election July 2, with votes to be counted on the same day.
The best way to treat political malfeasance is through more democracy and less political indifference among voters. To counter politicians who want to monopolize political power, the solution is constitutional reform so that people will vote to choose the heads of the legislative, executive, judiciary and procuratorial branches and manage government through the ballot box. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.
