Lawyer for Frankly Chu argues in pretrial that wordings of Public Order Ordinance protected former superintendent
Relevant provisions of the Hong Kong Basic Law and the one country, two systems principle declare that China cannot interfere in Hong Kong affairs, but Beijing constantly meddles in internal affairs in the SAR. Article 39 of the Basic Act guarantees the right of the people to self-determination. They have the right to hold referendums on any public issues. The people of Hong Kong should adhere to their rights and hold a referendum to decide their future. Otherwise when dictatorship becomes a reality they will be obliged to resist.
