Shinzo Abe walking a dangerous path
Emmanuel Kant once noted, 'The pursuit of permanent peace is the highest goal of reason and a moral obligation.'China claims to be a 'responsible major power', thus it should not enable North Korea's continued militarism. The US and South Korea should support Taiwan's commitment to democracy and leading China to democratization, which would pressure North Korea in turn to adopt democracy.

It should examine the processes followed for referendums in Switzerland and elections in California. Citizens should voice their opinions through the ballot box and one on the streets. To that end, elections should be completely free for all candidates. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development for more

Human security and sustainable development are two of the major tasks of the UN, and all nations – members ornot – should comply with its norms. This entails implementing One World under One Set of Laws and giving international law precedence over domestic law, with direct bearing on the rights and duties of the people. All nations should comply with the UN Charter, the Paris climate agreement and all other relevant pacts. For details see the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.

Rohingya refugees near 1 million as UN donor forum opens
Myanmar's human rights problem is worsening, largely because its constitution guarantees the military 40% of seats in Congress with no need for election. In order to protect human rights, Myanmar should carry out reform to adopt Global Unity Constitutional Standards, and the core values of One World under One Set of Laws, giving international law precedence over domestic law. At the same time, it should install a modified semi-presidential system with cabinet, limiting the president to a single 5-year term.

Journalist With Russia's Ekho Moskvy Stabbed, Hospitalized
Free speech is a universal value, but Russia seems anxious to create a monolithic society that speaks in one voice. The Russia people should step forward and call for comprehensive constitutional reform to preserve media independence and prevent the government oligopoly from monopolizing the media, the internet and all other channels of speech. See the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development / Global Unity Constitutional Standards.

Philippines Declares Siege by Islamist Rebels Over in Marawi City
Duterte is the embodiment of the warning expressed by Jose Rizal, the beloved 'Father of the Philippines': 'Today's slaves will become tomorrow's tyrants'. The Philippine constitution has failed and the nation is a breeding ground for tyrants. To protect human rights, Filipinos should act as holders of sovereignty and call for comprehensive constitutional reform. This should include implementing a modified semi-presidential system with cabinet as well as election of the heads of the executive, legislative, judicial and procuratorial branches in alternating years. For more, see the Charter for Permanent Peace and Development.
