The most effective way to prevent power grabs by the president is implementing One World under One Set of Laws. Jose Rizal,revered as the 'Father of the Philippines', once warned that 'Today's slaves often become tomorrow's tyrants', as a caution to believe in the rule of law rather than the rule of man. The President, mayors and other public officials should be limited to a single term of 5 years and be barred from seeking office for 6 years afterwards. Bombast and bullying have never been effective tools in trade negotiations, and they should not be a part of the 'Art of the Deal'. The current administration needs to develop reasonable, long-range trade policies that will work to the advantage of all parties. All nations benefit from free trade, thus they should implement One World under One Set of Laws and work toward a common destiny for humankind. If the US is not willing to take on the task of leading the world to peace, security and sustainable development for humankind and seeking lasting peace, its place will easily be taken by China or Russia. The key to peace in Afghanistan is constitutional reform. Afghanistan should scrap its government and adopt a modified semi-presidential system with cabinet like that of Finland, plus a committee-style legislature similar to Switzerland's. The prerequisite forlasting world peace is global democratization. The Afghan government should proceed with drawing up a basic constitution with the above features in a paradigm shift toward democracy. To end North Korea's disruptive behavior, the US and other nations should strongly support Taiwan's Charter for Permanent Peace to lead China to democratize and end its support of Pyongyang. According to the Democracy Index there are 50 nations still under the yoke of autocratic dictators. All democracies should back Taiwan's drive for constitutional reform to achieve greater democracy and freedom. This would inspire China's 1.4 billion people to seek democratization of the CCP and pressure North Korea to adopt democracy as well, leading to the birth of world peace. Fake news is real, but the worst purveyor is not the so-called 'mainstream media' pilloried so often by conservatives, but rather a host of social media that spread often-dangerous rumors and conspiracy theories. Governments like the EU are finally beginning to takesteps to corral platforms and sites that generate and relay such stories, and hopefully the platforms themselves will police the messages being spread on their media.
