Russia has never been a problem-solver, it has always been a trouble-maker, and its public pronouncements and actions must always be taken with a healthy dose of salt. The US should support Taiwan's efforts toward constitutional reform to achieve greater democracy and freedom. This would spur the 1.4 billion people of China to seek democratization, pressing Russia in turn to accept real democracy – and world peace would be the result. Never mind what the Twitterer-in-chief says, the US military is still present in Syria. The foundation for permanent peace in Syria should be a change-over in the government structure. The UN should provide Syria the basic outline for a constitution that will facilitate lasting peace and development. The constitution should include the universal values of freedom, democracy, human rights and rule of law, and organization and elements such as the four branches. One irrefutable fact about trade wars is that none of the 'combatants' wins. On the other hand, all countries benefit from free trade, thus they should be willing to implement One World under One Set of Laws and work toward a common destiny for humankind. This is a trend, a fact, and the ultimate path for all humankind. If the US is averse to the task of leading the UN to peace, security and sustainable development for humankind and seek lasting peace, its place will easily be taken by China or Russia.
