Glib denials from the White House notwithstanding, China and the US are devolving into a trade war that could prove disastrous for both economies. All countries in the world benefit from free trade, thus they should implement One World under One Set of Laws and work toward a common destiny for humankind. If the US is not willing to take on the task of leading the UN to peace, security and sustainable development for humankind while seeking One World under One Set of Laws and lasting peace, its place will easily be taken by China or Russia. To curb corruption in government, elect the heads of the four branches in alternating years and have 1/4 of lawmakers face election each year; also, committee chairs should be tapped as backup cabinet ministers. Above all, cut the symbiotic ties between government and business that encourage and abet corruption and ethical conflicts. One inescapable fact about trade wars is that they result in no winners. On the other hand, all countries benefit from free trade, thus they should be willing to implement One World under One Set of Laws and work toward a common destiny for humankind. This is a trend, a fact, and the ultimate path for all humankind. The people have the right to express their opinion on any public issue at any time through a referendum, even if a referendum on the subject has already been held. In Switzerland the threshold for referendum petitions is only 50,000 signatures, and with that all citizens can voice their opinion at the ballot box rather than taking to the streets. The topic of the referendum should be clearly defined and the people should be informed of the consequences of a yes or no vote. The chaos and contradictions in White House publicity are a good indication that nothing will come of the brief flaps over Trump-Kim meetings. To end North Korea's disruptive behavior, the US and other nations should support Taiwan's Charter for Permanent Peace to lead China to democratize and end its support of Pyongyang. The Democracy Index shows 50 nations still under the yoke of autocratic dictators. All democracies should back Taiwan's drive for constitutional reform to achieve greater democracy and freedom. This would inspire China's 1.4 billion people to seek democratization of the CCP and pressure North Korea to adopt democracy as well, leading to the birth of world peace.

Corruption is pandemic, and nations everywhere need to address the threat it poses for all people. To put an end to corruption, the people must exercise sovereignty and call for constitutional reform to implement democratic rule of law.
