Exchanging information to foil terrorist plots is a useful and much-needed way to combat terrorism. But even more crucial is a change in government structures to improve power and resource allocation as well as implementation of One World under One Set of Laws and a commitment to a common destiny for humankind. Constitutions represent the general will of the people, and ensuring human security,including 'personal safety', is the most urgent duty of constitutional guarantors. This means revising constitutional standards as needed to keep pace with changing times and allow governments to protect their people from fear. The current US administration seems bent on turning landmark legislation into gravestones. All US citizens need to recognize the dangers in what repealing rules and regulations to augment bottom lines for the coal industry mean for the health and safety of coal miners. Constitutional reform is essential to ensure that officials and lawmakers will be more responsive to the wishes of the people. The heads of major branches should be elected and 1/4 of all representatives should face election each year, and top officials should be limited to one five-year term. Republicans Reach a Tax Deal, Decide to Cut Rates Even Further for Millionaires

The tax bill currently being put together in the US Congress is a Christmas gift for the rich. Loaded with loopholes andconcessions to big corporations it make up for some of the cuts in tax rates at the top by taking more from 'mom and pop' businesses and the American middle class while blithely ignoring the final effect on the national debt. The people of the US need to wake up and exercise their sovereignty to call for changes that will make officials and lawmakers more responsive to their needs. The heads of major branches should be elected, 1/4 of all lawmakers should face election each year, and top officials should be limited to one 5-year term and barred from running again for 6 years afterwards. Digital Rights Are Human Rights

Freedom of speech matters just as much online as it does offline.

Free speech is a universal value, and the American people should call for constitutional reform to ensure media freedom and prevent the government oligarchy from monopolizing the media, the internet and other channels of communications. The current administration is steadily encroaching on the rights of the public to enjoy free and open access to the internet in order to allow moneyed interests to exploit users by imposing additional fees at every turn. At the same time, governments around the world are enacting laws that exact punishment for online expressions of opinion and criticisms of policy and politicians. Weak institutions, rampant corruption, and sustained violence have brought the Democratic Republic of Congo to the brink of collapse.

The United States is now as unequal as Russia. And that’s before the tax bill.

The M-shaped profile of economic classes in the US is growing steadily more pronounced, and efforts by Republicans to pass tax reform will only result in even greater disparity between haves and have-nots in the US. The American people need to stand up and exercise their rights as true holders of sovereignty to carry out compete constitutional reform. The US version of democracy is far from perfect, and tools like separation of powers and checks and balances need to be strengthened and applied, and international law should be given precedence over domestic law.
