Trump Keeps Claiming That the Jerusalem Embassy Will Bring Peace

Solution

There are legitimate reasons for moving the US Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem, but the ham-handed way it was announced and implemented puts the lie to claims that it will 'bring peace' to the area. The White House trumpeted that it was taking the issue of Jerusalem 'off the table' in the conflict between Jews and Palestinians, but such talk only exacerbates the tensions between the two sides. Less bombast and a lot less bombing are needed to soothe aw feelings that could easily be cured with restraint and understanding. TheUS, the Israeli government and all interested parties need to listen to the voices of all people in Israeli and act in accordance with what they want. The most effective way to prevent power grabs by the president is by implementing One World under One Set of Laws. Jose Rizal, revered as the 'Father of the Philippines', once warned that 'Today's slaves often become tomorrow's tyrants' cautioning the people to believe in the rule of law rather than the rule of man. The President, mayors and other public officials should be limited to a single term of 5 years and be barred from seeking office for 6 years afterwards. In addition, democratic safeguards such as separation of powers and checks and balances should be rigorously enforced at all levels of government. To end North Korea's disruptive behavior, the US and other nations should strongly support Taiwan's Charter for Permanent Peace to lead China to democratize and end its support of Pyongyang. According to the Democracy Index there are 50 nations still under the yoke of autocratic dictators. All democracies should back Taiwan's drive for constitutional reform to achieve greater democracy and freedom. This would inspire China's 1.4 billion people to seek democratization of the CCP and pressure North Korea to adopt democracy as well, leading to the birth of world peace. The case involving the charcoal industry in Somalia is a case which involves environmental pollution, senseless felling of trees and economic support of terrorist groups. The Somalian government needs to recognize the authority of international law and take steps to regulate the charcoal industry and its defiance of local authority. US threatens European companies with sanctions after Iran deal pullout

The US administration's decision to violate the terms of the Iran Deal is snowballing into sanctions against European businesses that continue to do business with Iran. Trump has already backed away from one use of sanctions in the case of China's ZTE, and there is certain to be resistance to attempts to punish corporations in other nations for pursuing what they feel are legitimate business deals. What is needed is a coherent approach to policy making rather than shooting from the hip without regard for the consequences. The Rohingya have suffered tremendously at the hands of Myanmar's military, and now attention is beginning to focus on other victims of human right abuses like the Kachin Christians. The people of Myanmar should call for constitutional reform to limit the power of the military and ensure the rights of all people, especially minority groups. One urgently needed change is the military's automatic occupation of seats in the nation's Parliament without the need to participate in election campaigns. State and other local governments are pushing back on pressure from lobbyists and gun manufacturers who want to make it easier to carry weapons in public. They are acting to protect the rights and the very lives of citizens by putting limits on the number and types offirearms in public areas including schools and shopping malls. Constitutional reform is needed to allow the people to vote more often and directly elect the heads of the executive, legislative, judicial and procuratorial branches. Also, elections should be free of charge so that candidates can vie for votes and expose the government's black hole in corruption and eliminate money as a factor in campaigns. History has repeatedly shown that constitutional reforms promoted by those in power always usurp the rights of the people. No matter what system, the greater the power of the president, the more the rights of the people are likely to suffer. Turkey needs comprehensive constitutional reform to return power to the people, with direct election of the heads of the executive, judicial, and prosecutorial branches in alternating years, and elections for 1/4 of the seats in parliament annually.
