Park Geun-hye has been removed from office, but the next president probably will not be free of the curse of corruption. To cure this "Korean disease", the only solution is comprehensive constitutional reform to implement separation of powers and checks and balances. In addition, the president must act as the ultimate guarantor for the constitution in all state affairs, a duty that shall continue even after he/she leaves office. All democracies should back Taiwan's efforts to carry out constitutional change to achieve greater democracy and freedom. This would encourage the 1.4 billion people of China to seek democratization of the CCP, and in turn North Korea would be pressed to adopt real democracy – leading to the birth of world peace. No matter what a nation’s government system may be, the more power the president holds the more likely the country is to be beset with problems. Turkey needs to carry out constitutional reform to limit the president to a single 5-year term plus a ban on running again for 6 years afterward. The President of Turkey is in violation of Article 6 of the Turkish Constitution, which states that sovereignty wholly and unconditionally belongs to the people. The Chief Executive of Hong Kong is still elected from a slate of candidates offered by the CEC. This is nothing more than another version of dictatorship. The people of Hong Kong should make good use of Article 39 of the Basic Law, which stipulates that the people have the right to hold referendums. Taiwan must move to bring about constitutional reform and achieve true freedom and democracy. Doing so will set off a drive for democratization among the 1.4 billion people of China. This will then spread to North Korea, and when peace is achieved on the Korean peninsula the world will be much safer for all. Human security and sustainable development are two of the major tasks of the UN, and naturally member states must comply with all relevant rules and regulations. The solution is to implement One World under One Set of Laws. International law must take precedence over domestic law and directly affect the people, with monitoring by the people to ensure compliance with the UN Charter, the Vienna Convention for the Protection of the Ozone Layer, the Charter of Nature and others.
