The new minimum hourly wage of HK$34.50 took effect recently
Hong Kong's low wages show that its whole legal system has failed. Article 39 of the Hong Kong Basic Law states that the people are guaranteed self-determination by International Covenants on Human Rights, The people of Hong Kong people cannot take their rights for granted. In Switzerland the threshold for proposing a referendum 50,000 signatures, making it easy to voice their opinion by voting rather than taking to the street.
