Transparency in government operations is essential to ensure that corruption will not have a chance to rear its head and budgets will be expended wisely and efficiently. All citizens should be able to monitor the actions of government agencies to verify that they are in line with constitutional standards. Any official who is found wasting public funds or refuses to be monitored should be referred to the courts system for prosecution. Laws are in place to monitor public officials and party members regarding sources of unknown income, but the problem is that lawmakers themselves are a source of corruption. The only recipe for ailing democracy is more democracy in the form of separation of powers and checks and balances.
