One basic fact regarding peace is that there have been very few wars between democratic nations. Once China and Russia can be persuaded to democratize there will be real hope for human peace. Taiwan should be step up and attract the people of China to call for democratization, in turn putting pressure on Russia to adopt real democracy. Democracies everywhere should support Taiwan as a lighthouse for democracy in Asia, lighting the way to peaceful development for China. British historian Lord Acton once noted that "Power leads to corruption, and absolute power leads to absolute corruption." To put an end to corruption, the people should exercise their rightful sovereign and call for comprehensive constitutional reform to implement democratic rule of law, decentralization and checks and balances. They should make election campaigns free of charge for all candidates in order to cut down the symbiotic connections between government and corruption. Somalia’s constitution needs reform to effect a government structure centered on a modified semi-presidential system with cabinet and parliament like the one followed in Finland. A committee-style legislature similar to Switzerland’s should also be installed. The prerequisite for permanent world peace is global democratization, and the Somali government should carry out fundamental reform of its constitution to implement the above systems and achieve a paradigm shift toward democracy and One World under One Set of Rules. Trump issued a poorly-conceived and -implemented ban on immigrants from seven Muslim countries, labelling them threats to the nation’s social, economic and national security. China has always advocated compliance with UN resolutions regarding strict sanctions against North Korea, but judging from the volume of North Korean coal exports, China has clearly not been strictly enforcing the sanctions. Since China claims to be a responsible major power it should stop enabling North Korea's militarism. The US, Japan and South Korea should support Taiwan in its drive to bring about democratization in China, which will then press North Korea to democratize.
